How to meet 2L's as a 1L

Post by admisionquestion » Tue Aug 28, 2012 10:37 pm

So,

In reading prep stuff i frequently hear, "get a good outline from an upperclassman" or "outlines will likely be floating around"

I'm about to be a 1L and am wondering a bit about the logistics of this...

Obviously all my classes are with other 1L's and its not like I am going to walk up to random people not in my classes and say , "hey do you have an outline for ..."

I am not very concerned about this... I am just confused and feel like im missing something.

The easiest way is to start banging one.

Absent that, join student groups (some have their own outline banks), ask your TAs, etc.

Not need to ask that question on TLS.

Bar reviews, parties, etc. I met tons of upperclassmen in my first few weeks and a lot offered to give me their outlines without me even asking.

Eh, admitting you're not getting laid seems a fairly effective way to get laid on TLS, and many of us are 2Ls, 3Ls and grads.

The only other TLSer from my law school transfered to Columbia. And was also another dude.

But this totally explains why that attractive 1L girl was really into me last Thursday night...

Really? This whole time I just needed to admit I'm not getting laid? It seems so simple.

Life is easier as a cute redhead.

This being said, I've actually been curious about this question too. I had assumed student groups were the way to go, but it's good to see there are additional avenues for making friends with non-1Ls.

Went to the bar for a welcome (back) to law school event and met some upperclassmen there. Like Joan, many offered their assistance without me even asking, and I'm hardly a cute redhead.

Me too. I've already given my outlines to like 10 people.
