Used Books

I recently purchased some of my casebooks through the amazon marketplace. They were pretty heavily discounted-- at the campus bookstore, used, they cost $150 each, I bought them for like $6 each. However, they are pretty heavily highlighted/annotated. Would it be worth it to shell out the cash for new or more gently used books or will this be acceptable? In the past, I haven't relied on highlighting/annotating...
