The practice of law for second generation+ lawyers

Post by boredatwork » Wed Apr 18, 2012 12:37 am

I might have put this in the wrong subforum and if I did I apologize. As I obsessively read TLS while I wait for 1L to start I kind of wonder how much, if any being a second + generation lawyer helps with landing a legal job and I was hoping someone on here could share their experiences. I have worked in law firms since I was 16, written memos, shepardized case law, etc. etc. and I am sure some of you have as well. Other than the obvious of being hired by your father/uncle/mother/aunt did your experience, network, and general understanding of the practice of law make it markedly easier for you to land a job? Did people expect more from you at interviews? or did it seem to not matter at all?
