What do JD/MBAs do during their 3rd summer?
Curious about this. If you're going Big Law route, do you just do two SA's? If so, at the same firm or different ones? If not, do you mix one SA with a non-legal business role?

Re: What do JD/MBAs do during their 3rd summer?
I know a couple JD/MBAs at my school, and the question is actually, what do they do for their second summer? From what I understand it goes:
1st summer: typical 1L internship (judge, PI, etc., SA if they're good/lucky enough to get one... none of my acquaintances were)
2nd summer: ???
3rd summer: hopefully 2L SA
From what I understand, law firms don't really want these people until their 3rd summer because of their late graduation date.
The second summer seems to really be the mystery summer. Supposedly, some do an MBA internship, but I've heard those are hard to get (because of the late graduation date and that JD/MBAs generally have weak WE compared to normal MBAs). Some that I know have basically done another 1L internship or something federal (like with the SEC). edit: doing 2 SAs would be pretty cool, I just don't know how realistic that is at most schools.

Re: What do JD/MBAs do during their 3rd summer?
I've looked at a couple of JD/MBAs' CVs and they tend to jump back and forth between business and law.
1L: SEC or govt-related
2L: BigLaw
3L: Associate at Investment Banks (or flip 2L and 3L summers)
If you enter as JD first (say this year), you're JD '15 and MBA '16. So 2014 would be your 2L summer whereas 2015 is your b-school summer, hence the lean towards non-legal internships for a lot of people.
