Don't know what school this is for, but I certainly appreciate where your head is at.

I suggest UC Hastings, San Francisco has the best Chinese food in the world.

This place is good: http://peterchangscharlottesville.com/
Other than that C-ville Chinese food is abysmal. My professor has a theory that one place here makes Chinese food and shoots it via tube to every Chinese place in the county. That explains why it's all so bland and awful.

University of Cincinnati. There are few Chinese restaurants nearby with really authentic dishes. The best is called Red Peppers.kenstokes29 wrote:Who has the best local Chinese food?

I'm sure Chinese food in China taste completely different than the Chinese food here with some people preferring the msg laden food on this side; San Francisco generally has great asian foods.Curious1 wrote:In the WORLD? American Chinese food tastes much better than authentic Chinese food, that isn't even a question.Curious1 wrote:In the WORLD? Better than in CHINA?jshark wrote:I suggest UC Hastings, San Francisco has the best Chinese food in the world.

True story: I was at a Chinese dim sum place in Honolulu with my aunt, because she's retired and does Chinatown tours for a hobby now. We were the only white people in there, and I think we were the only ones speaking English.
So the girls are walking around with the carts and we would ask to see what they had, and every once in a while, we would get a reply of, "Oh no, this not for you..."
Did NOT want to know what was in there.

I've lived near San Francisco, and I live in China now. There is no comparison. The "best" restaurants in America have food that is on par with a decent restaurant in Beijing or Shanghai.
EDIT: LOL I just reread what you wrote, and I'm retarded. That's great.
