I am looking for a apartment that is very close to campus, safe, reasonably priced, and convenient...

Any suggestions???

Check out the Pointe at St. Joseph. I lived there when I went to ND undergrad- not a college apartment complex at all. Very quiet, well run, and you could ride a bike to campus if you wanted (or make the 5 minute drive). Rent was reasonable when I was there in 2006, can't be too much more now.

I don't think I saw any other undergrads living there, maybe a few grad students, and a few professors.
