Lacrosse is already an aggressive sport...this doesn't look too good.

Yea, because generally when people are murdered they usually die with comfort and consolation from those closest to them.Kohinoor wrote:What the fuck?Yeardley died without comfort or consolation from those closest to her.

Clearly inappropriate statement in a press address expressing sympathy with the family and advising the students of counseling services.Leeroy Jenkins wrote:Yea, because generally when people are murdered they usually die with comfort and consolation from those closest to them.Kohinoor wrote:What the fuck?Yeardley died without comfort or consolation from those closest to her.
+1 on thinking that statement was bizarreKohinoor wrote:Clearly inappropriate statement in a press address expressing sympathy with the family and advising the students of counseling services.Leeroy Jenkins wrote:Yea, because generally when people are murdered they usually die with comfort and consolation from those closest to them.Kohinoor wrote:What the fuck?Yeardley died without comfort or consolation from those closest to her.

Yeah, however sad you were at that news, that sadness increased tenfold upon reading and thinking about that. What a bleak and jarring statement.Kohinoor wrote:Clearly inappropriate statement in a press address expressing sympathy with the family and advising the students of counseling services.Leeroy Jenkins wrote:Yea, because generally when people are murdered they usually die with comfort and consolation from those closest to them.Kohinoor wrote:What the fuck?Yeardley died without comfort or consolation from those closest to her.
accused being the operative word here.PDaddy wrote:Dude went to school w/at least one of the Duke Lacrosse players who was accused of sexual assault. That doesn't bode well for the sport, or a certain breed of dude. What is it with Lacrosse players?

And that's why I don't have any friends in law school; no one thinks dead body jokes are funny.badfish wrote:This is pretty much as uncalled for as it gets. Absolutely awful thing to happen, though. Just really sad and unnecessary.

I have always respected you a great deal for your contributions on this site, but you lost it with this incredibly callous comment.Renzo wrote:Uh, she pretty much qualifies.pleasetryagain wrote:would you guys care as much if she was an uggo?
I cant even imagine what your response would be if someone made a blanket statement like that about a different group of athletes and "breed of dude"PDaddy wrote:Dude went to school w/at least one of the Duke Lacrosse players who was accused of sexual assault. Agreed. We've had 2 pretty serious allegations against lacrosse players in the last few years, and one of them was an unsubstantiated witch hunt with no conviction. How does that compare with the hundreds of DUIs, gun incidents, rapes, and nightclub fights in basketball and football? I don't see you making any blanket statements about football or basketball players based on the behavior of people like Ben Roethelisburger, Gilbert Arenas, Plaxico Burress, Pacman Jones, etc. etc.GordonBombay wrote:I cant even imagine what your response would be if someone made a blanket statement like that about a different group of athletes and "breed of dude"PDaddy wrote:Dude went to school w/at least one of the Duke Lacrosse players who was accused of sexual assault. playing a certain game = has nothing to do with what happened

Well, guys that play intramural volleyball are kind of sketchy, but I basically agree with you.GordonBombay wrote:I cant even imagine what your response would be if someone made a blanket statement like that about a different group of athletes and "breed of dude"PDaddy wrote:Dude went to school w/at least one of the Duke Lacrosse players who was accused of sexual assault. Sorry. I am unrepentantly incredibly callous, but that might have been a tad too disrespectful. I don't mean to project on to the victim in this paticular case, but I have a passionate hatred of the "dead white lady" news staple, and some times it leaks out in inappropriate ways.romothesavior wrote: I have always respected you a great deal for your contributions on this site, but you lost it with this incredibly callous comment.

In fairness to your post, you are correct that his playing lacrosse has nothing to do with what he did to this girl. That said, when I read "breed of dude", I could only assume he meant "rich, entitled little twat who thinks it's okay to hit women."GordonBombay wrote:I cant even imagine what your response would be if someone made a blanket statement like that about a different group of athletes and "breed of dude"PDaddy wrote:Dude went to school w/at least one of the Duke Lacrosse players who was accused of sexual assault.
