1L? if so, you are too sober to be asking that. You should be drunk on life right now, or even just plain old drunk.

2L? You should know better.

Open your calendar. Go to the current date. Flip down a few pages. Point to any date.

You'll get your grades at some point after that.

There is a set deadline, you'll get an email about it probably in early January. Back in the day it was January 31st, but I think they moved it up to January 15th or something for 1Ls recently.

~75% of grades will come the day before or day of the deadline.

No, it doesn't. You can get an A+ which is roughly the same thing, but more than one person can get it.

Don't be worried about insurance. It's a pretty straightforward class and I thought the reading was always pretty light. Or else it didn't take long to get through. That class was kind of a break from the heavier classes I took spring of my 1L year.

Yeah the insurance workload was relatively light and isn't particularly complex.

It's a little B+ heavy but nothing crazy.

I'm taking both Business/Govnmt Tort Liability and Insurance with Abrahams. is it ill advised to take two classes with the same professor? should I swap classes?

if you like abraham you're fine; if you don't like abraham or are gunning for a 4.0 get out of both of them

Deep introspection time. Are you normal? Sociable? Can you at least pass at being both of those for 20 minutes, then 4 hours, than around 3 months? If so, you'll be fine. If your interview skills arent hot, you may have a hard time.

You'll also have to be okay with not being able to crack markets like DC, SF, Chicago, and the like.

URM at median? Dude you'll be fine. And you only have 2 grades in. You have 6 to go before OCI. Calm down. There are tons of plain and boring non-URMs who get fine Biglaw jobs below median.

It used to be that if the course review were available, that meant the grade was up (or coming shortly). Not sure if still true

Partly true. Any course that has an evaluation up right now in LawWeb has grades up in SIS. However, not all courses which have grades up in SIS have evaluations up.

Ex: Mitchell's Evidence has evaluations up and grades up; Jim Donovan's Corporate Strategy has grades up but doesn't have evals up.

Go to the prof you want to RA for and say "hey dude/dudette, need an RA this summer?" (adapt for stuffiness of professor)

Edit: Some will post on simplicity, but the easiest way is getting in contact with the prof directly and just asking. Some may ask for a resume/transcript/writing sample.
