Maybe this strategy won't work for everyone, but I'd strongly recommend not reading every word in those cases. Most of con law is just made up so all that is important is understanding the holding and maybe a little more if your teacher is a tough cold-caller.Also, he assigns us about 200 pages of reading a week in which we go over approx. 10% of the material. I know that Con Law is a heavy reading course and I'm not trying to complain about that, but going to class has not helped me understand at all.

My con law notes last year: belts-and-suspenders, something about chickens, and a lot of bizarre baseball references.

Losing Epstein was such a huge shot to NU, imo. She was a wonderful con law prof, if a bit unapproachable outside of class.

I had her for a con law class in undergrad! She was great. My notes from that class are actually kind of helpful now.

Calabresi is a wonderful prof and can appreciate a good argument even if you disagree with him. I highly recommend comparative conlaw to those who are interested.bjsesq wrote:Dude is pretty great. I just really feel Epstein's Con Law was the most mundane class imaginable. No value added over reading a textbook in my own time.bjsesq wrote:Wait, as in contracts Bennet? Tha fuck you on, breh?Lieut Kaffee wrote:Probably Bennett > Epstein, tbh.Holly Golightly wrote:Bennett conlaw 4ever

Not that I would sincerely have wanted Bennett for Con Law, lol. Just making a point.

Generally I agree we shouldn't be overly elitist about law professors having JDs, but Epstein's non-lawyer vibe was SO strong. Too strong for my taste.

Loved that about her. Bennett was a nice guy but a meandering motherfucker when it came to teaching.Lieut Kaffee wrote:Generally I agree we shouldn't be overly elitist about law professors having JDs, but Epstein's non-lawyer vibe was SO strong. Too strong for my taste.

And yet I have fonder memories of Contracts than Con Law (and the same grade, you cynics).bjsesq wrote:Loved that about her. EDIT: On second thought, I think I did marginally better in Con Law.

Fuck Kleinfeld.
Makes us buy custom, incredibly expensive, non-resellable casebook (the asshat writes a new one every fucking semester).
Piles over 250 pages of additional reading on Canvas.
In addition to this, feels that it's necessary to send philosophical quotes (in latin) on canvas right before class.
He's such a dick, it makes it hard to concentrate in his class.

I was in his first class. He told us he surveyed like 8 case books to try to find one and took in comments and opinions from friends, judges, profs, etc. then he decided no book was good enough for him so he went to the packet shit the next year.mirroroferised7 wrote:Fuck Kleinfeld.

He is truly the quintessential fart huffing ivory tower silver spoon prof.

Anyone have an outline for Trademark Law taught by Jennings? Adjunct, so finding an outline might a long shot.
