I think full time student is different from federal loans. Maybe check to see if you'd lose your scholarship if you did under 9 units, but for federal loans you only need to take 4.

Also, I would not be surprised if they were more lenient for the last semester. The point of requiring some minimum for loans (and enrollment) is to prevent people from getting neverending living expenses but never finishing a degree. Not only are you finishing a degree, as they want, but making you take additional credits you don't need would be to force the school to provide you with extra product that costs them money to provide.

Thoughts on choosing a clinic? I'm looking for a clinic that'll have space this spring, provides opportunities to gain practical legal skills (like writing motions), and is under 16 hours a week. Any recommendations?

Can anyone comment on Advanced Trial Practice with Levin?
My impression is he's a somewhat polarizing guy but I'm wondering how that translates to the grading specifically.

Very, very generous grader. He's polarizing because of his personality. He can come across as pushy, but he also cares deeply about people. I'd absolutely recommend it.feralinfant wrote:Can anyone comment on Advanced Trial Practice with Levin?

I think it's four. I took 8 credit hours my last semester no one batted an eye.Charger wrote:Shit. Which one is it? I was also told the latter and was only planning on taking 8 credits. Subject: RE: Financial Aid Question and Credit hours
Hi XXX,
For JD students, full-time enrollment is 9 credits per term.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions and have a wonderful week!
Hi XXXXX,
Students must be enrolled in at least 4 credits per term to be eligible for federal financial aid.
Thanks,
Zach

Class size changed to 40 (per Caeser). Even more surprising.lhanvt13 wrote:Entrepreneurship law class size 65 -> Curved ELaw -> costs 1 point

Hmmm. I wonder if it's an error. If not, then I just paid 1 point to be in an uncurve ELaw class. Woo!wojo98 wrote:Class size changed to 40 (per Caeser). Even more surprising.lhanvt13 wrote:Entrepreneurship law class size 65 -> Curved ELaw -> costs 1 point

Entrepreneurship Law is typically capped at 40 because Reed doesn't want to curve the class. Plus the class assignments don't really fit well with a traditionally curved class. If you got it for 1 good job because it usually goes for 1000-2000.lhanvt13 wrote:Hmmm. I wonder if it's an error. If not, then I just paid 1 point to be in an uncurve ELaw class. Yeah there was a lot of talk about it being 65 people this semester and that scared people off I think.Icculus wrote:Entrepreneurship Law is typically capped at 40 because Reed doesn't want to curve the class. I liked the civil lit clinic with Elson. It's a little under the radar, but you get a chance to work on real cases, argue in state court, write, depose, etc. It often has spring space.captainplanet wrote:Thoughts on choosing a clinic? Did Lutz cap PE at 40 just so he could actually give out worse grades than the mandatory curve? I know he's started every class I've had with him saying we were lucky to be on a curve but I didn't think he was serious...

How do you see how many people are enrolled in a particular class? Or has that just not updated yet?

Can't believe PE transactions went for 1600.

I bid on the civil rights litigation clinic. It seemed like the hours aren't as insane as some of the other clinics and the work seems to be mostly practical legal skills (writing motions, legal research, etc.). Do you know much about this clinic?homestyle28 wrote:I liked the civil lit clinic with Elson. I did it last year and really liked it. The profs are all really awesome. You get out what you put in and they'll tell you as much. You can coast if you want or get really involved in cases. The work is really interesting and fun too.captainplanet wrote:I bid on the civil rights litigation clinic.
