Like most rules-based classes, it's pretty E&E conducive. I'd just pick that up.franklyscarlet wrote:not to distract from this but...

I didn't use any supps for Evidence. I recommend making an outline of the rules + commentary and watching the video of the old federal judge from Alabama teaching new federal judges the rules of evidence.
And since it's Allen, be ready to give him verbal fellatio on the policy Qs.

Thanks!!
Apparently large swaths of our class are gunning for only multiple choice on the exam. I'll fight it to my last breath. Allen's policy questions are a goldmine of points.

Are they gunning behind the scenes? No one has said anything to that effect in class, afaik.franklyscarlet wrote:Holly Golightly wrote:I didn't use any supps for Evidence. I love multiple choice. HOLY SHIT YOU MEAN THERE'S A SINGLE RIGHT ANSWER? THANK FUCKING GOD.

Eh when I had Allen form civ pro, multiple choice did NOT mean there was a single right answer...rinkrat19 wrote:I love multiple choice. HOLY SHIT YOU MEAN THERE'S A SINGLE RIGHT ANSWER? THANK FUCKING GOD.

Behind the scenes, I think. I'm not so big on attending class.Calvin Murphy wrote:Are they gunning behind the scenes? If you're not planning on clerking until a few years into work, (if at all), is Fed Jur still a must have class?

Really depends on the judge. You probably should have it on your transcript, but it's also risky because not having it is still better than getting a shitty grade in it.feralinfant wrote:If you're not planning on clerking until a few years into work, (if at all), is Fed Jur still a must have class?

Is there any advantage to taking legal ethics 2L or is it okay to wait until 3L?
Also, does it make a difference if you take Legal Ethics vs Legal Ethics for Business Lawyers?

There's the benefit of not having it hanging over your head during your 3L year (since it's one of the few academic requirements for graduation). Also, it might prompt you to take the MPRE a little earlier, which would make your 3L year more relaxed too. I think most people wait until 3L though.starz wrote:Is there any advantage to taking legal ethics 2L or is it okay to wait until 3L?

No difference between the two in terms of graduation requirements, but Business Lawyers probably has more of a corporate/biglaw slant whereas Legal Ethics is probably much more general.

MC exams also lead to the issue where the more difficult MC are worth FAR more points than the easy and medium ones. The MC exam leaves open the possibility of the curve being so tight that a couple questions can be the difference between an A- and a B. I personally hated the one MC section I had in law school.Holly Golightly wrote:Eh when I had Allen form civ pro, multiple choice did NOT mean there was a single right answer...rinkrat19 wrote:I love multiple choice. Does anyone have the Contracts E&E they'd be willing to sell? Message me your price and book edition, and I'll get in contact with you.

What's the deal with buying football game tickets? Do we get a student discount?

There's a grad student discount, but you only get it on a season ticket package. There's no discount for single-game tickets.Charger wrote:What's the deal with buying football game tickets? Do we get a student discount?
