Prepping for write-on is worse than pre-law school prepping.

1. How much is GPA considered in writing on to LR?
2. Are second semester grades a factor in the GPA component?

1. Zero, unless you are doing diversity write on, in which case you need to be top 1/3 GPA and top 1/3 of the entries
2. Yes, it's based on 1L GPA

Agreed. But no one listens to that advice either

If you work on it during when you have a scheduled class, its an honor violation. Rumor is that people have been caught and asked to leave the school.
I used the electronic version and failed to get on LR. I did buy three drinks at the bar and have a really good time with those ten dollars. So its up for debate
Oh okay wow didn't know that. Makes me feel a lot better because I think I would have felt pressured to not attend if that wasn't the rule.

It really depends on your approach to it. I was finished in time to go out for drinks on Saturday night.

Someone told me that the Copy Center will mail your Judicial Internship apps for you for free if you bring them there. Is that true? I'm pretty skeptical.

I don't know, but it seems possible. They used to do free resume printing, anyway

So I know OGI is normally early August, but I was wondering what date exactly it started this past year? I'm trying to plan when I would need to be back in Charlottesville... I checked the academic calendar already for this year and it just says TBD.

Look at the date for 2013. It was like Aug 11.

was 8/12 last year. but most people i know were back four or five days before then. early to mid first full week of august is probably the safest bet until career services announces the schedule. some weird shit will pop off the week before interviews like firms deciding they want additional documents or whatever and if your bids/interviews are affected it's good to not be traveling during those time periods, because there's often a 24 or 48 hour deadline for making the update.

Copy center printed over 700 sheets for me and more for a friend. Mail room in WB shipped out 80 judicial apps for free. It's real.

Do you need moot court if you want to aim for litigation in OGI? And if so, if you didn't try out last semester has that boat sailed?

eta: if you're regretting not trying moot court for other, non-OGIpanic reasons, you can always sign up for lile. that deadline is like during OGI, or was last year. i want to be clear that i'm only mentioning this because there is a nonzero chance otherwise some of you would never have heard of it until the day of the deadline, judging from recent experience.

So are you guys saying it plays no role in OGI? Or that the boat has been missed?

Yeah, but honestly 1L year you'll probably have class while it's out there, so you will probably only catch the tail end of it (at least in my experience).
