was hoping for less exams at once so that's why I was interested in Corp. Should I just stick with BA then if Presser is that bad?

It's due basically the first day of finals. So it's like a real final. Take a paper class instead if you want 3.lhanvt13 wrote:sucks more than 4 exams at the end of semester?Desert Fox wrote:It's like a 2 week take home essay exam. It sucks.lhanvt13 wrote:Haha it's presser.Desert Fox wrote:

I would wait to take 1st Amendment with DeSanto, he's amazing! Also check whether Strategy of Litigation is a class where ITA really should be completed beforehand. I hear that Admin is intense, and some say you should take tax before Estates & Trusts, but I took it without having taken tax and was totally fine (different professor though). I think most people try to strike a balance with half black letter law classes and half seminars, and you'll want to watch for a curved class heavy schedule, since that'll definitely increase your stress level.Solistus wrote:Thoughts on doing a clinic as a 2L? I worked for the Environmental Advocacy Center over the summer and loved it, already signed up for Prof. Loeb's energy law class, but I'm thinking about dropping Admin Law from my current schedule if I can get the clinic in round 2. My current classes are:
1st Amendment (Kitrosser)
Administrative Law (Fischman)
Energy Law & Policy (Loeb)
Strategy of Litigation (Salpeter)
Trusts & Estates (Lindgren)
Also, any other feedback on this schedule would be great. I kinda have no idea what I'm doing, and OCI has consumed 99% of my attention lately. I know I probably should have bid BA round 1, but if I'm reading CAESAR correctly there's no real chance of getting in via round 2... Next semester it is. I was thinking that I would also take care of the writing requirement next semester, and save the perspective elective and legal ethics for 3LOL - is that a reasonable plan, or am I screwing myself over by not taking care of some of those requirements this semester?
edit: may be worth mentioning that I have plenty of points left - over 2500.

Is this schedule way too heavy? I really want to take these classes but don't want to make myself crazy so I'd appreciate any input about work load from people who've taken any of these classes. Thanks!
Judicial Practicum
Basics of Contract Drafting (Mulaney)
Law, Advocacy, & Public Persuasion (DeSanto)
IP (Francis)
Law of Real Estate Development & Finance (Dana, Kellogg class)

AJD, need to take 6 classes. Is this a bad mix though? It's pretty light on black letter law but I've heard that some of these other classes may be work heavy.

Yeah the practicum with 5 other classes is going to fuck your life up. 12 hours a week for the work plus 2 hours for practicum class plus a bunch of busy work (weekly journals, class presentation). Ethics usually involves a bunch of dumb small assignments throughout. I assume a contracts drafting class also has assignments throughout the semester. DeSanto might as well for all I know. That schedule really sucks.captainplanet wrote:Desert Fox wrote:yes why are you doing so muchcaptainplanet wrote:Is this schedule way too heavy?

Admin Law with Fischman is intense in terms of the people in the class and the final, but there's less than 10 pages of reading per night usually. During the semester it isn't bad at all. His lectures are also very comprehensive and substantive.

Thanks! I might drop ethics or IP and pick up a seminar instead.Flips88 wrote:Yeah the practicum with 5 other classes is going to fuck your life up. 12 hours a week for the work plus 2 hours for practicum class plus a bunch of busy work (weekly journals, class presentation). Why aren't you taking project finance?
He gives 90% A's, 5% A- 5%A+. And there is only a final project and group paper (20 pages combined). It's legit.
