Me too. Idk what any of this is supposed to mean in terms of professors. Are they solid, hard?ncc5 wrote:Section B:

ETA: Also are they saying we have contracts 5 days a week or it could be any of those 5 days.

Of these, I've only had Armacost for Torts. She will likely require Abraham's Tortsncc5 wrote:Section B:

supplement. Read and outline each chapter as you get to it in class. Armacost uses the concepts from the supplement heavily.
Armacost cold calls a lot and will go through the class a couple of times during the semester. She does not, however, linger on a single student for a terribly long time. She'll often ask you to confer with your neighbor too.

You won't have contracts 5 days a week unless your professor is cancelling classes for some weeks during the semester.danitt wrote:ncc5 wrote:Section B:

Collins is amazing. He's also B+ heavy (whether that be good or bad for you).
Johnston for contracts is...something else. He doesn't allow laptops in his class, and he definitely cold calls. His exam is also kind of tough. DEFINITELY take his practice writing assignments seriously.

Would greatly appreciate any input on my section.
Section I
Contracts - Choi
Crim Law - Coughlin
Torts - Harrison
Civil Procedure - Garrett
LRW - Buck
Also, we have an 8:50AM class on Friday? Followed by two more? Is this some sort of sick joke? That's 3 more Friday classes than I was expecting.
And this may be a stupid question, but is there a place online where we can see which books we need to get? The bookstore has them laid out by section, but there's gotta be an easier way than walking over there and writing each one down...

Coughlin is simultaneously amazing and frustrating, in that she tends to let gunners run the class. Harrison is interesting - you'll figure out what I mean by that. There is no other way I can describe him.Legal_Padawan wrote:Would greatly appreciate any input on my section.

Moran is the best LRW prof, but Buck is ok.

uva bus and charlottesville bus are both free for students, just show your ID. they never ask for ID on the uva bus, though. the buses are pretty nice, although the clientele of the city buses can be a bit dodgy

Any specific supplements I should get? Also how are the profs in general and do they all allow laptops?

Abraham is an all-star. I heard mixed (leaning negative) reviews about F-M's Con Law class last year, but I have no idea how he is in Crim. Moran is amazing. She's makes the class seem demanding at first, but that's just to scare you into not being completely blowing it off. She's actually incredibly nice and helpful.Just wrote:Also asking for advice for thisWahooLaw24 wrote:Advice/feedback on the following profs would be great as well!

Nelson is phenomenal. His class will be very hard - more difficult than what your friends in other sections will have to deal with - but you will walk away knowing pretty much everything one could possibly know about civ pro.
Moran is the best LRW prof.

Is there anything out there that's not graded on a curve? Other than independent research or whatever.

What is the consensus among 2L's and 3L's on renting vs. buying 1L text books? Are they useful to have after the exams are taken?
