Is PHC trash? I have no dog in this fight (went to Big State U years ago) but the few people I know from PHC have generally been pretty sharp. I always thought it was snickered at because of it's politics, not because of its academics.
I mean, 1280 SAT average isn't trash, but it's not elite like OP is claiming.
1280/2400? Doesn't that mean you got most of the test wrong since you get like 600 pts for filing out your name?
Lol out of 1600. Most people don't count writing when talking about scores slash they're actually going back to just being out of 1600 now too.

ohhk, cool. my b.

yea, that's not bad but it's still significantly below the premier liberal arts colleges referred to as aspiring peers:

1441/1600 (amherst), https://www.amherst.edu/system/files/me ... 2018_0.pdf
1480/1600 (pomona), http://www.pomona.edu/news/2014/03/21-a ... s-day.aspx
1432/1600 (williams), http://www.collegedata.com/cs/data/coll ... hoolId=229

not that SAT scores are a very good metric

Ironically, that means that based on the quality of its accepted students, PHC is peer with Sarah Lawrence College (~1250 SATs, ~70% acceptance rate), albeit situated in a different political niche. Or, to make a more neutral comparison, you could argue that PHC is a smaller, much more conservative Trinity (CT) (~1280 SATs, ~35% acceptance rate)* for homeschooled kids -- but without the history, established reputation, or selectivity. If true, that's pretty far from the level of college necessary to provide a bump for HYS.

*I don't mean this in any way to knock Trinity or SLC, which are absolutely fine schools. They just are not of the level necessary to impress HYS adcoms -- and PHC appears to be at very best their equal (and at worst, substantially more of a risk in just about every imaginable way).

Isn't Sarah Lawrence the one that's famous for not requiring SAT/ACT?

Must be easy to fluff up sat scores when you're a school with zero affirmative action policies :?

In fairness to op, I don't think he ever suggested that phc would provide an admissions boost, although I haven't followed this thread religiously.

This thread had a lot of good stuff. I think my favorite part of it was Uncle Able taking like 3 pages before finding an opportunity to tell us that NOT ONLY did he attend one of Harvard, Yale, or Stanford for law school, but also that he attended a brag-worthy undergrad.

Like, we get it bro, you went to HYS and are a VERY PRESTIGIOUS person, we already know that because you can't shut up about it. Can't you just let the OP do his thing?

Dude, you know I appreciate your posting, but are you really saying that OP should do his thing by continuing to believe that PHC is a pinnacle of educational opportunity that's going to float him on a cloud straight to HYS because it has a good moot court program or whatever?

I think Zuck's point is more that abl is like the BiglawAssociate's rich wife of pedigree (but far less obnoxious)

Although ironically I think we might have gone to the same college

Oh, I know (and that is a good way to put it), I just thought this particular thread was a slightly odd one to go there for.

(I actually think either we all went to the same colleges or were rivals of each others colleges or similar.)

You seem especially mad, is it because the school is super conservative or something? I know you're super liberal but take it from one lib to another- it's not worth getting that worked up over these nutjobs. We can let them cook a little bit, it's fine. Different strokes, we don't have a monopoly on the truth or what's right, etc.

Anyway, the thread was just entertainment for me, clearly the OP is a lost cause and/or troll. Nothing positive could be done for the OP here, might as well just enjoy the thread for what it is. And Abl swooping in to remind us of his pedigree was my favorite part.

But no obviously I don't think someone should think some random shitty neocon school is going to help them get into HYS (or be a good option just as life in general is concerned) or that moot court/mock trial is meaningful on any level. I think those points were sufficiently covered for any present/future lurkers who might be reading. Once that is accomplished, I think it's fine to sit back and laugh at the other dumb stuff posted in this thread.

I for one hope the OP never stops doing his thing (assuming he's beyond redemption, of course)

*Attended Harvard, Yale, and Stanford.

Anyway, I thought it was relevant and could be persuasive to the OP (specifically to helping the OP understand why beating Harvard or wherever in moot court isn't necessarily all that impressive). PS I kind of like "Uncle Able," although I suspect I'm your age.

It was meant as more amused (with you) than mad, because I thought abl's points were perfectly valid and your response was more you having a thing about abl than white knighting the OP.

Skip the small "liberal arts" colleges, regardless of whether they are liberal or conservative, and attend an undergraduate program that prepares you for an alternate career in case your legal aspirations falter. Engineering, finance and accounting come with the added bonus of positioning you for the more lucrative areas of legal practice and giving you something more substantial than the "prestige" of YHS to rely on.
