One comment about my study style: as with any study style, it will not work for everybody. But this is especially true of mine because I tend to understand things very quickly, and I have something close to a photographic memory. So I don't really need to brief my cases because I remember them all anyway.

NYU 3L here. OP, I hope you do great, and many people get by on intuition, but memorizing cases won't bring you success in law school. Exams are all about applying the law, not regurgitating what you remember. That's why they're mostly open book.

Wasn't going to discuss it because I just got tired of being berated (even if maybe I deserved it a bit). I was correct about the A and the B+, and wrong about the A-; I got an A instead. Based on what I know about class rank (which isn't published), I'm either just barely inside the top 5% or just barely outside of it. For those of you on here who know who I am, please keep this private. I don't want my grades to become common knowledge.

I was accepted about six days after my file went complete (but I applied right on the deadline and apparently this is pretty common at NYU if you apply late). I received my scholly offer a little less than a month later by snail mail only (note that they call you if they admit you, but they did not call me to offer me the scholly). My scholly offer was dated February 20, so if you haven't gotten one yet, don't give up hope!

Do they provide any data about the results from EIW? Or the results from the PI fair in the spring?

They give students some data during the pre-EIW prep, but it's statistics about how many people got jobs through EIW and certain GPA cutoffs for firms. It's nowhere near as detailed as the Columbia data. You can find some data about recent graduates here: http://www.law.nyu.edu/careerservices/e ... statistics

Oh I know NYU is very successful overall . I'm just trying to get a better look at firms in DC, which is tough because so many self-select to NYC and/or PI, so the overall numbers of people going to DC for firm work is somewhat misleading. That's why the data on callback/interview, offer/callback, by city is so useful, and I was hoping NYU had something similar.

0L here, but I've heard that a lot of people prefer the 20 minute PATH train from Jersey City/Hoboken. Cheaper rents and the 9th street stop is just a couple blocks from campus.

I'm a 2L and I know literally no one who lives in Jersey. (I do know a few who live in Queens and a bunch in Brooklyn.) Not sure why that is.

Jersey can be annoying because the PATH train frequency is super low on nights and especially weekends. For instance, Saturday nights starting at midnight the train only comes once every 35 minutes.

On top of that, from a cursory Craigslist scan, rents don't seem to be any cheaper than similarly situated neighborhoods in Brooklyn.

Any current NYU students know how many classes Richard Epstein teaches? I am wondering if students actually get to interact with him at all.

He taught two 1L classes last year; this year it looks like one 1L class and 1 upper level. But I'm not sure you really want to be champing at the bit for a chance to take Epstein. He can be a bit much.
