They will give you access to an "Apex Outline Bank," and there are a few Redish ones on there that are great. The PDF ones are what I used. I was too lazy to make a unique one.

I always made sure to get outlines before the drop deadline. I made that mistake 2L fall and couldn't find an outline for admiralty law. Sucks huge cock having to work for a week to put together an shitty outline and still get a B.

What if the incoming class is even more gunner than our class and WE get to complain about their lack of attendance at events? Man, growing up is sure a strange and wondrous journey.

Credited for electives but irrelevant for classes that you don't choose.

People are probably a year or two older on average, but it's not really that noticeable. For one thing, there are plenty of 22-23 year olds around 1L, they're just balanced out by some 27-28 year olds. Also, age doesn't really matter that much, with the exception of the married folks or people who are in their 30s (which are still fairly uncommon) most people are at about the same place in their lives. I myself am one of the younger students in my class and I have AJD friends who are much older than me, and everything in between. There isn't much difference between a 24 year old law student and a 27 year old law student.

ETA: This was in response to a post someone stealth deleted, but I'll just leave it here as my thoughts on NU's age difference since that seems to get brought up frequently.

Yeah, I second this. You can't really mass mail for a while, especially since you don't have grades yet, but it's definitely not too early to put together massmail lists with firm contact info, offices, etc.

How would you recommend building spreadsheets? Bidding strategies is difficult without medians or anything from last year or a list of employers and slots.

Spreadsheets for mass mailing are pretty straightforward, and NALP makes it easy for big firms (for non-NALP you need to do a little more research). You have a field for firm name, office, address, recruiting contact, contact email, and anything else you might want to put into your mail merge. For bidding you can go by the stuff from previous years as a guide, but realize that there might be some new firms and some old firms might not be there this year. Do you guys have the median data from last year, 2012, etc.?

Haha it's really not that bad. If google didn't lump the emails together it'd be a lot worse. DISCLAIMER: It's not me
