Pretty sure. Maybe you just don't have any Monday classes?
I saw an email that said classes officially start on the 21st, but there is some error on SIS.

An ERROR in SIS? The most sophisticated and modern educational system available? No, that simply can't be true.

Should we be doing anything with the writing competitions that Ballenger emails us? Do people ever do those? Worthwhile?

Mitchell's evidence grades are up, for the 300 or so folk who seemed to be in that class.

Thanks for the heads-up! Three 1L sections and one huge evidence class and he still managed to get all of the grades in well before Fed. 1st. What a beast.

Before the new rules, all classes over 15/16/whatever students have to have a mean GPA between 3.25 and 3.35. So, no.

No. If I recall correctly, he gives mostly B+'s, some B's, and a very small handful of A-'s and A's. Unless things have changed, he doesn't give below a B.

Grading Adjustment: The law school recently adjusted its grading policies for all courses where the incoming mean GPA of the students enrolled in the course is greater than 3.35. Starting in the spring 2013 semester, instructors for these courses are permitted (but not required) to have the mean of the grades for the course be as high as the average incoming mean GPA of the enrolled students. Prior to this revision, this policy only applied to courses with 16 or fewer students.
Where did this come from? Did we get an e-mail? Was it posted to the website? I can't find anything about it.

It snows/gets very cold in Charlottesville quite frequently.

I've lived here for years. 6-10 inches of snow in a day would still be quite a lot, hence schools tend to close at the slightest mention of snow, and the supermarkets will be packed in the morn with folk doing the french toast run.

I was really complaining because Christmas week would be better timing than during J-term

nobody cares. i guess it can be an issue if you wore melissa etheridge tshirts every day but 4-5 times a week should be ok.

Not so sure about this. In my three years here, I can only remember two snowfalls that stuck. One was a less than two inches, the other was less than an inch. But the year before I got here, there was a big storm, so maybe it's an every-three-year phenomenon.

As for cold, if you are from a part of the country north of the Mason Dixon line, you won't think it gets cold in Charlottesville. If you are from Florida, you'll put on a parka and long underwear when the temperature dips below 40.

But if you are from a northern state, you will be shocked at the inability to cope with even a minor snowstorm. I think Charlottesville must have like one snowplow, and no one has really explained to the city how salt and sand work. Meanwhile, the pickup truck driving populace (which is rather large) thinks their 4-wheel-drive means they can drive 50 on a snow slicked road without consequences, right until they slide off the road.
