Hi guys!
Officially checking in on this thread now that I've got my oct lsat score in hand. Anyone here apply ED to NU? I'm seriously considering it this week.

Re: Northwestern 3Ls Taking Questions and Challenges
paglababa, I'm applying ED too, but your GPA is a million times more impressive than mine!
Question for anyone who can answer: do the interviews really give a leg up/are interviews really necessary in the application process? It looks like I missed the interview request date for off-campus interviews, and I work out of the country, so it's not possible for me to do an on-campus one. I'd love to know if anyone got in without doing the interview.. or if I should just apply regular-decision and request an interview.

Re: Northwestern 3Ls Taking Questions and Challenges
I'm sure many of you were in a position to choose between UVA and NU. I'm considering sending an ED app to UVA. If I'm lucky enough to be admitted, in the back of my mind it kind of bums me out to think I'll be passing up three years in Chicago. I also have a fiance who will have a much better time finding work in Chicago vs. Charlottesville.
For those who were in a similar position, how did you make the decision?

Re: Northwestern 3Ls Taking Questions and Challenges
Honestly I would characterize it as a decision between increasing your odds at a T14 (through EDing UVA) versus increasing your SO's odds at getting a job or a job they like (through ending up in a big city). The job prospects of you and your SO are far more important than your city preference, imo, which is why I think your subjective preference for being in Chicago really isn't a factor here. If you are very borderline for the T14 and your SO doesn't mind job hunting in C'ville too much, then I'd ED UVA. If your SO already has a good career path that would be hurt by moving to C'ville and/or you've got a decent shot at getting into a T14 that is in a big city (e.g., Penn, NU, etc), then I'd lean away from EDing UVA.objection_your_honor wrote:I'm sure many of you were in a position to choose between UVA and NU. Re: Northwestern 3Ls Taking Questions and Challenges
I asked for a Skype interview last year and they said they only do them for people who are out of the country. This might be an option for avth if you are not in the US.

We should also set up an unemployment fund for unemployed students with high debt. After all, that is a worse outcome than having your bike stolen...

The woman getting robbed while standing outside Levy Mayer is a lot worse than the bike theft, IMO.
