Is there something I can download to add the legal dictionary to Office's spell check?

Eh, there really aren't so many words that you can't just add them to the dictionary as they come up.Cobretti wrote:Is there something I can download to add the legal dictionary to Office's spell check?
I would recommend adding autocorrects for your most common misspellings as you discover what they are (e.g. I always end up with an extra E in 'judgment'), and an easily-typed autocorrect for the section symbol § (mine is set so !s corrects to §). Some people also want Π and Δ for Plaintiff and Defendant, but I personally just use P and D.

Re: Northwestern 3Ls Taking Questions and Challenges
Any advice on this schedule:
For Sure:
Clinic (entrepreneurship)
Real Estate Bankruptcies (Neff)
Negotiation (probably Gandert)
American Democracy (Bennett)
Cannot make a decision (I need 2 out of 3); and please let me know if any of these professors is Horwich-like, his Sec Reg was a nightmare for me.
Antitrust (McGinnis)
Admin Law (Burns)
Banking Law ((Freechack)
Also, is there somewhere where we can take a look at the list of courses that will be offered in Spring? I wouldn't mind taking antitrust then.

I am 14 pages into my first Antitrust reading and A)I hate it and B)I don't understand a damn thing and C)I've fallen asleep twice. Literally. I have less than zero interest in or comprehension of economic theory.
Should I switch to Fed Tax?

The spring schedule is on Caesar. So you're wanting to take 17 credit hours, which would include taking a seminar for 2 credits (which is a relatively inefficient use of a seminar)? Are you way behind on hours or what?Pokemon wrote:Any advice on this schedule:

Re: Northwestern 3Ls Taking Questions and Challenges
Fed Tax is probably less dense and more of a survey class, though I haven't taken antitrust. on the other hand, it is being taught by a visiting professor, so there's a bit of a unknown factor there.rinkrat19 wrote:I am 14 pages into my first Antitrust reading and A)I hate it and B)I don't understand a damn thing and C)I've fallen asleep twice. Re: Northwestern 3Ls Taking Questions and Challenges
I need 30-31. So not that behind. I am really just interested in the bottom three courses and bankruptcy; I bid too much on the clinic and negotiation to give up (i know silly) and will probably drop American Democracy if I find it overwhelming. I also got screwed by four credit sec reg so am trying to push my GPA up. Awesomeness... dropping antitrust!!!! It is also offered in Spring!Flips88 wrote:The spring schedule is on Caesar. Yeah, I think I'm switching to tax. I can always switch back since neither are full. And both are curved so whatever.Samara wrote:Fed Tax is probably less dense and more of a survey class, though I haven't taken antitrust. on the other hand, it is being taught by a visiting professor, so there's a bit of a unknown factor there.rinkrat19 wrote:I am 14 pages into my first Antitrust reading and A)I hate it and B)I don't understand a damn thing and C)I've fallen asleep twice. I think Fed Tax can be professor dependent. Conceptually, with Crane it was difficult.rinkrat19 wrote:Yeah, I think I'm switching to tax. I can always switch back since neither are full. This is probably true. I had Brennan, who was awesome. I think it's important to not get bogged down in the "financial" aspects of it.Pokemon wrote:I think Fed Tax can be professor dependent. Conceptually, with Crane it was difficult.
Fed Tax is also nice because you'll be able to do your own taxes a lot better.

The first class is the pretty much the only one where he gets into the weeds on economic theory. They get much better after that. I would say stick with it.rinkrat19 wrote:I am 14 pages into my first Antitrust reading and A)I hate it and B)I don't understand a damn thing and C)I've fallen asleep twice. Literally. Didn't use a supplement. Get an old outline with case summaries and go to class.Blumpbeef wrote:Antitrust supplement recommendations?

Re: Northwestern 3Ls Taking Questions and Challenges
Hate to break the chain of academic related responses going on here but I had a question about applying.
Personal Statement: NU says 2-3 pages. Does that really mean strictly 2 as some on TLS have said? I've got mine at 2.5. Is that a big no-no? For the people that have gotten in, how long was your statement?
Thanks!
EDIT: I'm applying for the AJD program if that makes a difference.

Re: Northwestern 3Ls Taking Questions and Challenges
Diamond told us in the spring that they had "just hired" a new guy to teach some of the IP classes. I just assumed it was Francis, not knowing who he was.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
