The applications are not binding. When they offer you an apartment you can accept or reject it. But once they offer you an apartment and you accept it, that acceptance is binding.

Can anybody who lives in Lionsgate/Lenfest or who has seen both give me some information about the pros and cons (other than the price) of living in a studio or an apartment there?

Is there any precedent for financial aid (not loans) for admits with median numbers?

How hard is it to find street parking? And how often do you have to move the car (I assume it's for street cleaning?) I was thinking about bringing one track car and one daily driver but it looks like that's be completely out of question :(
Sorry, but this makes me laugh. It's hard to find a spot, and if you find one, you'll have to move your car either daily or every two/three days, depending on what street you're on. Or you could pay for parking in a garage, in which case you're free to leave it as long as you like, but you pay something like $300 per month (for one car).
Edit: also, how safe are the streets?
Very safe.
Edit 2: Is the multiple bedroom single bathroom the norm for NYC or just the university housing?
Off hand I can think of only one person I know who lives in a two-bedroom-1.5-bathroom. Generally apartments come with one bathroom.
Any idea which building has the 1.5 bathrooms? If it's close enough to the law school I might request that one, if I end up choosing Columbia.

Also, does anyone here live in the law school housing on the 400 block of 115th street? I didn't get a chance to check out this building at ASW but would like to know more about it. If anyone lives there and can take pictures, that would be fantastic. Otherwise, can anyone tell me if these apartments are any nicer than regular UAH housing, or are just more expensive because they are so close to the law school?

(I was the person of that quote above.) The person with the two-bedroom-1.5-bathroom does not live in Columbia housing.

Anyone have any experience with the clinical program? It seems like Columbia offers fewer clinics than other schools. Does that mean not everyone gets to do a clinic who wants to?

It means CLS is not a very good school. You should go to GULC. I hear they have lots of clinics.

Many schools have "clinics" that are run by practicing lawyers and involve work at outside organization (DAs, US Attys., PDs, etc.). At CLS, however, we call them externships. The skills/experiences are essentially the same as a clinic. The only difference is who runs them and what we call them.

So in addition to our clinics, we offer these:

Fall 2010

Late reply, but yes.
<-- ED, median #s, pretty decent grant "need based" (I guess CLS families are pretty rich overall, because my family's not poor by any stretch of the imagination)

Maybe diff now w/ the whole ITE thing.
