Can anyone please post the best website to learn speed typing?

as an incredibly slow typer, I would like this too.

Just go to best buy and purcase one of their typing programs for 20$. I used Mavis Beacon the summer before 1L. I got to 60-70 wpm before school started, and then from typing throughout the semester I got up to 80-90 before exams. So i though it was definitely worth it.

Yeah, don't get too paranoid about typing speed. I'm a pretty slow typist (idk how many wpm, but my typing style is embarrassing and it can't be more than 60wpm), and I didn't feel disadvantaged by my typing speed at all. Getting up to 70-80 wpm is likely plenty. Some people swear by typing 120 wpm for the entire exam, but there's a reason, at least in my experience, you don't see a lot of 30 page model answers.

Edit: Just checked the longest exam I wrote 1L year. I spent about 1/3 of the time reading and outlining, so I averaged 36 WPM.

This is credited. I got an A- on a 90 min essay portion of an exam with 1100 words. Idk how much time I spent outlining and reading and I really might have caught the good side of the curve in that class but that is only 12 wpm. I think around 50 is where you want to be. I can type faster now but I think the most I ever wrote only averaged to about 46 wpm.

As a 0L who knows nothing about law school, yet everything about speed typing, the "ideal" place to be for general tasks is when you are typing roughly at about the speed at which you think; that is, you can actually say the words to yourself at around the same speed as you type them (plus or minus a couple seconds). While you shouldn't beat your brains out over getting to that standard, when it comes to maximum efficiency + effectiveness, typing fast is very, very useful. At the very least, being able to type fast makes it so that you can be neurotic and edit your posts over and over again. Additionally, I would say that the best resource to up your typing speed is just one of those "learn to type" programs. Fork out the bucks if you have to, but for heaven's sake, actually PRACTICE typing - don't just read about it in a book!

I will make the bold assumption that law school is nowhere near a "general task," though, so fellow 0Ls, take everything I say here with a grain of salt.
