I thought you had given up the law game and just resorted to beating people and taking their money by now?bjsesq wrote:FMLhomestyle28 wrote:Just filled out my OCI 2012 interview tracker. You're welcome 1Ls.

Alternatively, thought you were frequenting unseemly parts of chicago with a "will armbar for food" sign, no?
If it's the latter, I'll bring an extra sandwich to the atrium this week

Carbon! But they don't deliver all the way up to Lakeview...bjsesq wrote:Crack sauce. WHO MAKES THE CRACK SAUCEhmlee wrote:Clarke's? Really? Ugh. So overpriced for what they offer.
Someone said DMK, but also their sister restaurant Fish Bar if you like seafood.
Kuma's / Kuma's Too for burgers
Sheffield's for BBQ (there are other, arguably better BBQ places in the city, but in the specific region of Lakeview, that's the best)
Cheesie's for grilled cheese / late night
Dimo's for pizza / late night
Tac Quick for thai
Ann Sather's is fine for brunch, but may I also suggest Southport Grocery, Kanela, and Chicago Diner.
There are many other tasty places, but those are the best off the top of my head

DF in particular, but also anyone else who knows: would this thingy let me connect my laptop to the screens in the LM basement study rooms (and to the projectors in the classrooms, I assume)? My computer has HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, but no VGA.
Or this one for DisplayPort?

That HDMI to VGA should work for VGA, but there is be a lot of compatibility risk. I'd go to the LM basement and double check that they don't have HDMI already.Desert Fox wrote:I'll check it out, but I thought the LM ones have HDMI.rinkrat19 wrote:DF in particular, but also anyone else who knows: would this thingy let me connect my laptop to the screens in the LM basement study rooms (and to the projectors in the classrooms, I assume)? I was in room 7, and I pulled out like 4 cords from the hole in the middle of the table and they were all VGA. I could have missed HDMIs, but I didn't see any.Desert Fox wrote:I'll check it out, but I thought the LM ones have HDMI.rinkrat19 wrote:DF in particular, but also anyone else who knows: would this thingy let me connect my laptop to the screens in the LM basement study rooms (and to the projectors in the classrooms, I assume)? ETA: I'll check LM again before buying anything.

levy mayer basement study rooms only have VGA, but the classrooms generally all have the panel inputs with HDMI (either the command center or wall panel looking things). that cable looks like the right one, but damn that's expensive- not sure it's worth it just for the basement rooms since the resolutions on those tvs are horrible (1366x768 i think?)

Damn we should have stolen more WLC and BALSA money and got HDMI cables.

They used to have HDMI cables. I remember using one to do a Downton Abbey marathon back during my 3L year....

By the time I started, Harry's was upstairs, but we still called downstairs "old harry's". I liked it a bit better because there was study room for like 30 people. Instead now, the rooms are always taken by like 1-2 students.rinkrat19 wrote:Yup.Blumpbeef wrote:Isn't the basement only one or two years old?

I did a tour when Old Harry's was still down there and it was scary and dank.

Anyone want to give me odds on the boat cruise being 86'd this year?

Regarding the pseudo-required 50 hours of volunteer work:
I was told by another 1L that if you work, unpaid, more than the 180 hours required for your practicum or SFPIF grant over the summer, the excess hours can be counted toward your volunteer hour total. True or no?

True, but it's not really pseduo required.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
