Speaking of giving away books, if anyone wants a ton of outdated casebooks (like a ton) to sell, burn, whatever, PM me. I just want them gone.

Anyone selling a clicker ? Do people typically sell those once the semester begins? Clermont wants us to bring it for Wednesday.

When should we be looking to buy supplements, and where from?

0L here.CornellStudent wrote:When should we be looking to buy supplements, and where from?
From what I've read (and asked) supplements are definitely helpful but not necessarily right away. Important supps are those for ConLaw (Chemerinsky) and for CivPro. The others are helpful (hit or miss) as well. They are good to explain the stuff that is pretty confusing / difficult. So you should look to get them for that point in the semester. Hornbooks and E&E seem to be the top recommended types. You can get them off 2/3Ls (you should be getting listserv) or even used from amazon and the like.

I'd get Hillman's hornbook now, and wait to purchase others after speaking w/ people who had your professors and did well.toothbrush wrote:0L here.CornellStudent wrote:When should we be looking to buy supplements, and where from?

Don't buy everything until you're sure you need it. I have literally over a dozen supplements I've never opened.

Of course, who got cold-called on the first day of class on how Sibbach solves her dilemma?MischiefMayhemSoap wrote:Or for the rest of your life. Haha. At least you didn't have a Clermontian Sibbach explanation.Lavitz wrote:Of course, who got cold-called on the first day of class on how Sibbach solves her dilemma?MischiefMayhemSoap wrote:Or for the rest of your life. Also, just a friendly tip: just because you've been called on today doesn't mean you're safe for the semester, or the next few weeks, or even the next couple of days. BHS strikes at any time.

Aside from the fact that he spent a slide on defining a dilemma (which didn't go to waste, as the first person who defined it was off base), I thought his explanation of Sibbach was fairly helpful and straight forward.gonewiththewind wrote: Haha. I remember reading here that he never cold calls, but he did today.
Eisenberg took a few jabs at Clermont and CivPro, so that was cool, I guess.

He always cold calls the first day, but he will mellow out. Also, I think you spend 3 days with Sibbach. It gets confusing, trust me.toothbrush wrote:Aside from the fact that he spent a slide on defining a dilemma (which didn't go to waste, as the first person who defined it was off base), I thought his explanation of Sibbach was fairly helpful and straight forward.gonewiththewind wrote: Haha. Re: Cornell 1L taking questions
Considering I had no idea what the case was really about while reading it, I definitely believe it gets worse. However, I appreciated his quirky humor and long-winded approach to explaining Sibbach. The iClicker usage is neat, too, I guess.ImNoScar wrote:He always cold calls the first day, but he will mellow out. Also, I think you spend 3 days with Sibbach.
