A lot of people in my class used this: http://www.amazon.com/Mastering-Secured ... ansactionselterrible78 wrote:Also interested in this, and as a side note, Picker is the man.lawschool2014hopeful wrote:Any recommendation in terms of supplement for Picker's ST class?
I wouldn't call ST a supplement-friendly class. Read the code. Then read it again. Repeat x infinity. That should do it.

Re: UChi Students & Alumni Taking Questions
It's more a question of "least bad" than one of best, I'm afraid
Comcast is definitely less bad than AT&T. RCN also kinda sucks from what I've heard but might suck less than Comcast; can't get it at my building but maybe at yours. That about sums up the options at most buildings, but some of the bigger ones provide their own (hit or miss).

Does anyone have an outline for Adam Samaha's Con Law class? (He's teaching it at NYU now.) BizBro and I are both looking for one - help is greatly appreciated!

Am I living under a rock if I have no idea who Adam Samaha is? I feel like he might have been before the time of the people who post here.fkt18 wrote:Does anyone have an outline for Adam Samaha's Con Law class? (He's teaching it at NYU now.) He taught there from 2004 to 2012 - hoping an alum can help out (or someone with access to an old outline bank maybe)!Tiny Dancer wrote:Am I living under a rock if I have no idea who Adam Samaha is? Are you a 1L? We don't have a 1L core Con Law at UChicago - the only one Samaha's taught from old outline banks seems to be an upper year Speech & Religion class.

Are all clinics and seminars (for non-1Ls) curved to 179 or just some of them?
Also, if anybody has a Corporate Finance outline for Dharmapala and wouldn't mind passing that along I would be seriously grateful.

If I remember correctly, all paper seminars are curved to 179 but if there's an exam it's the regular 177 curve.UofCforme wrote:Are all clinics and seminars (for non-1Ls) curved to 179 or just some of them?

2L actually, but it's still a core Con Law class. Thanks for checking!DontStopBeliebin wrote:Are you a 1L? We don't have a 1L core Con Law at UChicago - the only one Samaha's taught from old outline banks seems to be an upper year Speech & Religion class.

Below a certain class size (seminars/clinics) the prof can ask for an exception and curve it to 180 iircUofCforme wrote:Are all clinics and seminars (for non-1Ls) curved to 179 or just some of them?

Re: UChi Students & Alumni Taking Questions
any clue how this works for seminars where ppl turn in papers at different times? id think no grades until everyone has turned in, but i know that's not accurate from experience. same question for spring classes with 2ls and 3ls... grades are due for 3ls before 2ls.DontStopBeliebin wrote:Below a certain class size (seminars/clinics) the prof can ask for an exception and curve it to 180 iircUofCforme wrote:Are all clinics and seminars (for non-1Ls) curved to 179 or just some of them?

Just remember there's no reason to even think about outlines until mid-November at the earliest.KMart wrote:I don't know you, but thank you.uchicago-notes wrote:Notes and outlines: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7GwE ... zh6SUhxRmM

Re: UChi Students & Alumni Taking Questions
I rolled my eyes at the whole "you only have two tests your first quarter" thing from admissions, but right now I am thrilled about it. I can't imagine having 3+ tests to study for simultaneously while not having taken a law school test before.

Also remember that if you've always done better studying way in advance and you feel like starting your outlines now, go ahead and do that. I screwed myself over by listening to the common "wait until mid November" advice. I was always more of a "slow and steady" studier.eliminatorjr wrote:Just remember there's no reason to even think about outlines until mid-November at the earliest.KMart wrote:I don't know you, but thank you.uchicago-notes wrote:Notes and outlines: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7GwE ... zh6SUhxRmM

I always waited until fairly late in the game and did okay, but I also always wished I had gotten started earlier. I can't think of any real disadvantage to starting to outline early.Tiny Dancer wrote:Also remember that if you've always done better studying way in advance and you feel like starting your outlines now, go ahead and do that. Re: UChi Students & Alumni Taking Questions
I dunno, I think it helped me to do em all totally last minute. Keeps it all fresh come exam-time. If I'd gotten 50% of my outline done before Thanksgiving that's 50% of my outline that I'll totally have forgotten about in a couple weeks.
There's probably something to be said for having time to digest/synthesize/whatever it all too, tho
Shit's personal, what works for you might not work for someone else & vice versa, etc etc

Re: UChi Students & Alumni Taking Questions
I think there is only one "right" approach to outlining - the one where you leave yourself enough time to take practice tests. 1L's are weirdly obsessed with having the perfect outline. Who cares. Take tests.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
