3Ls- has anyone taken Water Law with Torres? Is it interesting? How's the curve? Is the prof competent/engaging?
Would also appreciate any advice about any other upper-class electives (take this, avoid that, this helps get into another competitive class, etc)

I don't think Torres has taught it before. I had it with Professor Porter and enjoyed it. If you are from New York its really cool because the majority of the class is about the watershed that the whole state relies on. It was mainly cool because you can dedicate most of your time in the class to your paper and the professor is pretty helpful. I would look into issues in water law and see if one interests you enough now to get excited about a paper. If you're from the west (like me) there's tons of really interesting stuff to talk about.

Btw, Legend of Dragoon is one of my all-time favorite RPGs, although I preferred Rose to Lavitz.

For civ pro, don't buy old editions of books and don't buy the e&e unless it clearly says this year on it (I doubt they have new editions). Changed rules means you calculate dates differently for filing dates.

Whatever you do, don't buy the legal writing books new. No one does the reading and one of the books we were supposed to buy was $100 for some awful paperback. I bought an old edition for $4 and never opened it.

However, do buy the 19th edition of the Bluebook. I bought the 18th edition and more changed than you'd think.

Solid advice. Same with supplements- do not buy them new unless you have a good reason.

Also, if you want decent outlines for all the classes to start from, the BarBri first year outlines are not a bad backbone (for civ pro and property especially) and you get them free when you put your first deposit down.
