Anyone been to yusho yet? Just got the loaded fries with a friend but they were good and the menu looked solid

I had a steak at A10 that was p. good, but it was listed at "market price" on the menu and then came back at $45. It's on me for ordering without asking, but fuck, that was a good $15 over anything else on the menu.

I made the mistake of getting delivery from them once. It wasn't great, but I don't think you should expect that kind of food to hold up well for delivery. Everything I've heard from people who've been to the actual restaurant was positive.

The rule with market price is always: if you have to ask / care about what the answer is, you probably don't want to pay that much. Assuming you're paying for it yourself.

I'm not a big fan of yusho. Their food is okay (the bao taco is very good; the ramen is meh) but the service in the restaurant is painfully slow.

I've been to A10 on a regular basis and some of their dishes are amazing (the lamb rigatoni is a particular favourite of mine).

Other 53rd St preferences for me are Shinju and Sit-Down (their thin pizza is great)

It IS pretty terrible for food, no lie. The loop isn't exactly difficult to get to on the weekend though, so I'm still pretty happy.

What are people's thoughts on bidding for multiple offices of a firm? For example, L&W is fairly reputable everywhere.

Is the easiest way to get from east Hyde Park (Shoreland, Regents) to the city a bus like the 15 to the green/red line? Or is an uber to the train station quicker/easier than a bus?

I don't think anyone rides the Green/Red lines to get to the city. The typical way people get up to the city would be either on a CTA bus (I can't remember the bus number) or on the Metra. Or if you are with a bunch of people, say to get to/from bar review, the easiest thing is just to split a cab/uber.

From Shoreland you either take the 6 bus from 55th and S. Hyde Park or the Metra from 55th/56th/57th if you want a more pleasant and scheduled ride.

From Regents you take the 6 from right outside of Regents at E. Hyde Park and East End or the Metra from also right outside of Regents at E. Hyde Park and Lake Park.

The 6 is a 20-25 minute ride depending on how many riders get on at the various Lake Park stops and how busy Columbus/Roosevelt is up north because it's a brutal intersection. The Metra takes like 11 minutes invariably. Bus is $2 with a Ventra card (idk if you guys will get UPASS it was up for a vote), Metra is $3.25 or $3.50 for a one way, I forget.

Thanks guys, the metra sounds like it's going to be the best for me. I prefer the trains to the buses, even if they don't come as often

What about coming back late at night? Is one safer than the other? I can google how late they run if you don't know off the top of your head

Take the bus up and take an uber back. It's really the most convenient way.

Literally never used the metra honestly b/c the schedule isn't that convenient and I'd rather just use everything through CTA. 99% sure the 6 runs later though.

Yeah I think I know what you mean. I visited last week and just being able to use my Ventra card for everything was so convenient

I think most public transit runs until about 2AM - that was when Google shouted at me that I would need to leave on the 4th of July.

Regardless, there appear to be lots of ways to get home from just about anywhere, and Google's public transit mapping is awesome. I've been using it to get around a lot.

Ventra cards are also fantastic, I picked one up since the UPASS thing won't be good until we get our IDs anyway.

Just be smart. Take the bus rather than the L back to Hyde Park. Take an uber if it's late.
