Sorry rink, I guess I mean the 1Ls who know her well.rinkrat19 wrote:I have zero opinion of her.Icculus wrote:I think the 1Ls have a far different opinion of her than most 2Ls.Samara wrote:DAT NORTHWESTERN DIFFERENCEBlumpbeef wrote:I think Kadens is the only thing I actually like about this school.
Just to clarify, the 1Ls I know who love her had her as a prof. I have heard she is amazing in a classroom and in a small group setting. The 2Ls who have had her in class say the same thing so I am sure that she is great in the classroom. However, dealing with her just as the clerkship person can be very difficult. She has a vision, which is good, and things are organized, but there are some serious flaws in the way she executes and interacts with people as a whole.

Would absolutely love a Crane, Federal Income Tax outline, or any other tips for that class. Room has horrible acoustics and I can barely hear her.

Re: Northwestern 3Ls Taking Questions and Challenges
Has anyone ever taken Labor Law? I'm taking it this semester and I have no idea what to expect for the final paper, and I kind of want to start thinking about it over Spring Break so I don't have to worry about it during finals.

I've heard the exact same from people who worked with her on clerkships at Texas.Icculus wrote: Just to clarify, the 1Ls I know who love her had her as a prof. She's admittedly a person who has a learning curve, because the way she interacts with people is awkward and can come across as mean at first. but to know her is to love her.Georgia Avenue wrote:I've heard the exact same from people who worked with her on clerkships at Texas.Icculus wrote: Just to clarify, the 1Ls I know who love her had her as a prof. (I'm also conflating Miner, trial team, trial ad, and however many more of them I don't distinguish between.)

Not for a long, long time. I don't think we got our schedules until the week before orientation, possibly even during orientation.mrizza wrote:ETA?Georgia Avenue wrote:Yes.mrizza wrote: Will we find out which one of prop/crim law we are taking before orientation?

I remember we found out what section we'd be in the 2nd week of August. Not sure about classes...crumpetsandtea wrote:Not for a long, long time. well, my emails that second week of August definitely imply I knew I was taking CivPro from Redish, so we must have found out at that point.
And I have textbook orders in my Amazon history on August 11. So yeah.

Re: Northwestern 3Ls Taking Questions and Challenges
Yeah, it was the 2nd week of August, but IIRC the section assignments were visible earlier than they were supposed to be because there were still quite a few changes after they were released. I would expect them to be later this Fall.
