hey upperclassmen- any help in interpreting these? I realized I have no idea how to even determine what an approximate median might be.

This is very approximate, but it doesn't really matter because firms don't try to divine your exact class rank.
Nobody really knows what the bottom half of the curve looks like, because the curve is not symmetric.

And just a reminder to 1Ls: if you did well, congratulations. The curve means that a lot of people did not, however. So please, be considerate and don't talk about your grades, or grades at all really, in public.

And can I just say:
Fuck graded CLR in the ass
And Lawyer as a Problem Solver was actually kinda fun and helped take the edge off of waiting for grades.

I've seen a couple things about reviewing your exams. Do most professors return exams, and do they normally send them back pretty soon now that grades are out?

None of my professors have returned exams, but if you make an appointment with them they will be happy to review your exam and show you how it was graded.Kikero wrote:I've seen a couple things about reviewing your exams. 3L's are grandfathered out of this additional credit requirement, right? If not

So this is in another thread, but since it is written by our esteemed dear leader I thought I would post it here, too. Seems D-Rod actually supports some sensible ideas. Why the hell he would write this and at the same time defend our tuition increases I am not sure.

What's a normal credit load for 2L and 3L year, once 2-credit CLR is out of the way?
And how many of the elective classes are 4 credits vs. 3?

Usually between 14 and 17 depending on classes and previous credits. I would say most people I know are around 14 or 15.rinkrat19 wrote:What's a normal credit load for 2L and 3L year, once 2-credit CLR is out of the way?

If you take summer classes you can get that down. I took 8 credits over the summer so only need to average 12 until graduation.

Re: Northwestern 3Ls Taking Questions and Challenges
nota bene, if you're doing a govt job or working for a judge this summer, you can take a practicum and bank 4 credits. This is really useful if you're planning to do ITA next fall, that way you can focus on those 3 classes and take a 2-credit class and still be ahead.rinkrat19 wrote:What's a normal credit load for 2L and 3L year, once 2-credit CLR is out of the way?

Very few classes are 4. Sec Reg, secured transactions, and a couple of others. Most are 2 or 3.rinkrat19 wrote:What's a normal credit load for 2L and 3L year, once 2-credit CLR is out of the way?

1. I'm blanking, what's ITA?Georgia Avenue wrote:nota bene, if you're doing a govt job or working for a judge this summer, you can take a practicum and bank 4 credits. 2. If we do a practicum for credit, we can take out loans but can't get SFPIF funding, right?
3. I heard at one point that there's a remote/online practicum for if your gov't job is out of state. True?
4. Is CAESAR down right now or is it just my computer?

1. Intro to Trial Ad. There's a "trilogy" package with Evidence and Ethics where it's 8 hours of class, but you get 10 credits.rinkrat19 wrote:1. 2. Yes. As someone who took SFPIF, I semi-regret not getting the 4 hours of credit for padding hours, especially with journal shit for 2L and in light of the new bullshit 1 more credit hour req.
3. Yes as far as I know there's a practicum program for out-of-state jobs where you skype in or something and post to a blackboard message board or something.

Re: Northwestern 3Ls Taking Questions and Challenges
You have to take 85 credit hours to graduate now instead of 84. So used to be that you could take 14/semester and graduate just fine. Now you have to make up 1 extra some other semester.hrcycle wrote:can someone elaborate on this new additional credit hour requirement?
Part of me hopes they just make CLR 2.5 credits/semester to deal with this bs.
