Seeing as they all pay virtually the same, if I got an offer from any of my top firms I'd pull out of EIW in a heartbeat. Yeah, that all sounds amazing. They're in my top 3, and I have callbacks with the other two of my top 3 within the next week... so even if I don't get either of those, I would pick this firm above all else from EIW... Yeah, I think I'm skipping EIW. WOOOOO!Glasseyes wrote:Seeing as they all pay virtually the same, if I got an offer from any of my top firms I'd pull out of EIW in a heartbeat. Am I screwing myself by not taking the Writing Requirement and Professional Responsibility till my 3L year? I tried to register for each and didn't get either.

I'm not going to do it until 3L year either so I hope the answer isn't a yes.TheSpanishMain wrote:Am I screwing myself by not taking the Writing Requirement and Professional Responsibility till my 3L year? I tried to register for each and didn't get either.

I was really hoping to do a clinic 3L year and I was afraid that clinic+writing requirement would be awful. Zack, any thoughts?chuckbass wrote:I'm not going to do it until 3L year either so I hope the answer isn't a yes.TheSpanishMain wrote:Am I screwing myself by not taking the Writing Requirement and Professional Responsibility till my 3L year? Re: Bored GULC 3L Taking Questions
My understanding is that it's convenient to take WR your 2L year for a couple reasons. 1, depending on if/which journal you join, you can sometimes use your WR paper as your submission for journal if you time it right during 2L year 2, you just get it out of the way and have more time to spend on a clinic or something 3L year. I'm sure it's fine to do them 3L year. I don't think theres anything wrong with it and you aren't screwed, just depending on your situation it might be easier to do it 2L.TheSpanishMain wrote:Am I screwing myself by not taking the Writing Requirement and Professional Responsibility till my 3L year? I don't know of anyone doing professional responsibility 2L year, everyone I know is doing it 3L. Anecdata though.

Makes sense. A lot of clinics satisfy the WR too though, looks like.awoodard wrote:My understanding is that it's convenient to take WR your 2L year for a couple reasons. 1, depending on if/which journal you join, you can sometimes use your WR paper as your submission for journal if you time it right during 2L year 2, you just get it out of the way and have more time to spend on a clinic or something 3L year. PR is super easy. If anything you'll be fresher for the MPRE if you do it third year.

Ok, so how does registration work? I preregistered for everything (for transfers the deadline is this Friday).
So once the results come out, what happens if I didn't get enough credits? Does registration completely open up so you can just add and drop classes at will from that point on or what?

Ok perfect. I don't like this system but at least we don't have to wake up at some strange hour and race to type in classes and hope your computer doesn't mess up.Capitol_Idea wrote:Yes.chuckbass wrote:Ok, so how does registration work? You can do that too, especially if you really want to popular classes that fill up.chuckbass wrote:Ok perfect. I'm hoping people aren't really gunning for all these tax classes but idk. I honestly just don't care what I'm in.Capitol_Idea wrote:You can do that too, especially if you really want to popular classes that fill up.chuckbass wrote:Ok perfect. I hear P/F was created for tax classes. Not really, but that's supposedly how everyone uses it.chuckbass wrote:See, my plan worked

How do we designate something as P/F? On MyAccess, everything is noted "This is not a Pass/Fail Course".

Re: Bored GULC 3L Taking Questions
It doesn't work for any 1L classes; doesn't work for stuff like PR or other required upper class stuff; might be some other exceptions. This page has a link where you can choose your p/f classes, alongside all the other annoying details. My impression was you can do it within the first week or two of starting a class (i.e., feel it out and see if it seems horrible).TheSpanishMain wrote:How do we designate something as P/F? Re: Bored GULC 3L Taking Questions
Very meaningless question, but do they seriously keep Fall LRW as "IP" on transcripts for every year, or are they just being especially lazy this year? The registrar told me they're not going to change it, which seems really dumb.

Listing a full-year course on a transcript with "IP" for the first semester's grade even after someone graduates is a very common practice.BmoreOrLess wrote:Very meaningless question, but do they seriously keep Fall LRW as "IP" on transcripts for every year, or are they just being especially lazy this year? Going into my 4th year it's still on there. This is funny, because when I emailed about it a few weeks back, I was told they were "working to remedy it as soon as possible." Yeah right...Capitol_Idea wrote:Going into my 4th year it's still on there. I graduated, and my final transcript still says "IP", so... not so much.EzraFitz wrote:This is funny, because when I emailed about it a few weeks back, I was told they were "working to remedy it as soon as possible."
