This is correct. Some weeks you might have more than 3, some weeks you might have under three. It'll be a guessing game, which is both good and bad. Good: more random cancellations, can have light weeks. Bad: hard to pin down your exact schedule, might have weeks with more classes than other sections.bgdddymtty wrote:This likely means that Prof. Low has something going on that's wayyy more important than teaching lowly 1L's. These classes will still meet three times per week, but the days will fluctuate.albanach wrote:Section D&G focus heavily on Criminal Law or there's a typo?5ky wrote:For the soon-to-be 1Ls: I think this should be a list of the schedules/professors for the different sections.
Section D
Civil Procedure -- Nelson -- TWRF (8:50-9:50) (D/I)
Torts -- Armacost -- TWF (10:00-11:20) (D/H)
Criminal Law -- Low -- MTWRF (2:10-3:10) (D/G)
Contracts -- Verkerke -- MWR (3:40-5:00) (D)
-----
LRW -- Buck -- M (1:00-2:00) (D)
Thanks for doing the heavy lifting though, the list is very helpful.

They should really set it up so that if I use my number 1 bid on a firm that pre selects me, my number 2 bid becomes my number 1 bid.

Re: UVA 2L taking questions
I have no idea. I looked on LawWeb and I could not find anything on the application process. Perhaps it's one that you can simply list like any other course during the registration process, and hope that you get it. Right now it has five of six spots filled, so perhaps it's even possible for a 2L to get into it. It's not nearly as awesome as the Supreme Court Clinic though.crossingforHYS wrote:so.........how hard is it to get into the appellate clinic?

So yes or no to Cohen for PR? Can someone elaborate on his grade distribution? Also, this one is 3 credits compared to the other. I'm also thinking about taking Agency, so that might be too much Cohen...

What classes are P/F? I wasn't sure if the clinics were P/F or if there were any random seminars that were P/F.

Negotiation institute? 1L LRW? UVA likes to grade us on everything. Even small seminar short courses are usually graded & curved.JohnWild wrote:What classes are P/F? I wasn't sure if the clinics were P/F or if there were any random seminars that were P/F.

Hey all, I'll be a 1L in the fall. I'm living close to the corner, any good shuttles that will run near the law school? The map on the UVa website is pretty hard to decipher.

Students can ride city buses for free. Your fastest route from the corner is probably a #7 city bus, getting off outside Kinko's in the Barraks Road Shopping Center. From there, it's a five minute walk uphill to the school. The #7 runs every fifteen minutes during the day.PancakeMonster wrote:Hey all, I'll be a 1L in the fall. Your other option is to walk to the Chapel and get the Blue Route UVa bus. It stops outside the law school itself. This may be quicker depending upon where you are staying.

Why are you being an asshole? I was under the impression it was pass/fail. I don't understand how that warrants a douche responseuvahooo wrote:wut? +1. I believe it is P/F unless something has changed, that's been a major distinction between Duke and UVA on these boards.paulinaporizkova wrote:Why are you being an asshole? Re: UVA 2L taking questions
Person A asked what courses are P/F. I responded with the only two I could think of off the top of my head: Negotiation Institute and 1L LRW. Then I wrote other words. So yes, it is pass/fail, which is what I meant when I wrote that it was pass/fail?

Post v. 2.0, now with 10x more clarity:
Negotiation institute? 1L LRW? Other than those and a small handful of other p/f courses, UVA likes to grade us on everything. Even small seminar short courses are usually graded & curved.
