Re: Northwestern 3Ls Taking Questions and Challenges
Question: With NU Law being in river north and the main NU campus in Evanston is it permissible/practical to take an "elective" classes in other grad schools (pub policy, pub administration, polisci type classes?)
The website had less info on this than other schools so wondering about it...

Re: Northwestern 3Ls Taking Questions and Challenges
It is doable, there is a process behind getting approval, and there is an intercampus bus that goes from Chicago campus to Evanston.JDeezy wrote:Question: With NU Law being in river north and the main NU campus in Evanston is it permissible/practical to take an "elective" classes in other grad schools (pub policy, pub administration, polisci type classes?)

Re: Northwestern 3Ls Taking Questions and Challenges
Anyone have even a halfway-decent Securities Regulation outline for Horwich (preferably from last semester)?
Thanks all.
Thanks all.

My section has Dana for Property and McGinnis for Con Law next semester. Any feedback about either of them?

Dana is an adorable awkward genius. He was a good teacher, I thought. Actually read his little book that is optional- very helpful on the exam. Also, keep up with the reading- he calls on people predictably, and it's very easy to let slide.Kikero wrote:My section has Dana for Property and McGinnis for Con Law next semester. Re: Northwestern 3Ls Taking Questions and Challenges
How about Kontorovich for ConLaw? His CTEs are some of the worst of the ones I've read, saying that he doesn't engage students, doesn't answer in-class questions, is a confusing lecturer, talks too fast, doesn't let you know how much to read, and the casebook sucks.
Obviously every prof gets some negative feedback, but this dude has like one comment on how he's a dynamic lecturer and everyone else sounds miserable.

Not a student (hope to be!) but I'll point out he is a Volokh Conspiracy blogger, which is kinda cool, though might point to his interests outside of teaching...rinkrat19 wrote:How about Kontorovich for ConLaw? Konto kinda sucks but people are way to sensitive. Don't take a class from him unless you have to because he is harsh in grading.
He tries to answer questions at least. But he really isn't interested in babying anyone.
He just gets shit on more than average because he outwardly doesn't care about you.

It might suck more. He doesn't have to give 25% of the class some kind of A.Flips88 wrote:So uncurved Fed Jur might still suck?Desert Fox wrote:Konto kinda sucks but people are way to sensitive. Don't take a class from him unless you have to because he is harsh in grading.

Speaking of, apparently a few of his Civ Pro tests were missing a section that everybody else had. Maybe it's a good thing that now Cliff is going to be involved in determining class grades, figure Pfander hates our section.Flips88 wrote:Probably still better than Pfander aka curve pwn central, right?bk187 wrote:Boom. My apathy increases exponentially as finals period progresses. There is no way I could save a curved class for last.
