Yea I didn't look at that until after I got my grade... otherwise I would have been extremely happy or really sad and I wasn't willing to take the riskoldad wrote:msblaw89 wrote:Glad I was in his Civ Pro I got my gradesArbiter213 wrote:If the evidence grades don't go up soon I'm going to Grutz my Spano.

Posted this in the c/o 2016 tread, but it's probably more appropriate here:
Edit for context: we were discussing the insane prices of Collegetown and whether $$$ and noise was worth living so close to the law school.

I wouldn't want to be the black sheep living 20 minutes away from everyone else.

Re: Cornell 1L taking questions
You think the date of the 18th is real, or just a smokescreen? That'd be 2 full weeks past the release of all other grades, taking total grade time to 5 weeks.FlanAl wrote:guess he graded civ pro first. but yeah this is getting a little annoyingmsblaw89 wrote:Glad I was in his Civ Pro I got my gradesArbiter213 wrote:If the evidence grades don't go up soon I'm going to Grutz my Spano.

I think its just a smokescreen. I can't imagine they would have given him a different due date, and if they didn't, I don't know how they would defitively know when he will turn the grades in. If only this were the only class I was waiting on. I only have grades for seven credits at the moment.

And that's a good point- the 18th is probably BY the 18th- since that's the last business day before classes begin.

Re: Cornell 1L taking questions
I live downtown, but not that many law students do. I save about $300/month compared to a similar apartment in ctown, and it takes me about 15 minutes to walk or take the bus to/from school. I also avoid the throngs of drunk undergrads that populate ctown. I'd say the only real downside is if you will want to go home to eat lunch and dinner and then back to school. Once I get home I rarely make it up the hill again.nbj08 wrote:Posted this in the c/o 2016 tread, but it's probably more appropriate here:

I live in hughes which is the on campus housing right next to the law school. I highly recommend Hughes. If your young or young at heart meaning you like to party on weekends I think that you would enjoy it. Even if you don't which some hughes residents choose not to drink or whatever they still seem to enjoy having a close network of friends. I attribute much of my first semester success to living close to the law school without distractions during the week such as t.v. and the immediate comforts of home. I know a lot of TLSers advise against Hughes, but for me it was a life savior. However, everyone is different. I don't think I saved too much money, but every cent was well spent IMO.Lincoln wrote:I live downtown, but not that many law students do. Sources tell me 1L median is 3.4784. Dean's list cutoff is 3.6037. Top 10% is 3.79.

Is Hughes even going to be around next year? Makes sense with the higher median- more people above the line lower down, so less clustering at the top, so the cutoff is lower.transfer2014 wrote:Lower top 10% this year. Sharing the wealth!

no its going to be around.. they did an information sesssion for people interested in being ra's next year. Therefore, I'm assuming that it will be around for at least one more year.Lincoln wrote:Is Hughes even going to be around next year? Eventually Hughes will go away. But the rumor that it will go away "next year" for office space had been around for at least 3 years.Lincoln wrote:Is Hughes even going to be around next year? Could any 2/3Ls share what exam format Garvey (crim) and Sherwin (Property) use? Also any other thoughts about these profs are helpful and welcomed!
