PSA - I don't know any class that didn't take people off the WL, and i don't know anyone on a WL who didn't get off if they tried. Show up to the first day and if there's a seat you will get it.
Do Greenbergs ever end up pulling from the waitlist?
I can second the general rule that you'll get in if you want to. My 1L year the WL for Roman law was something like 80 people long, but the 2-3 people who actually showed up the first day were allowed in.
No clue I'd guess not

When someone withdraws from a class w/ a waitlist, the spot gets offered to the waitlist folks, who then have some time to decide whether to take it. So there is technically an open seat but until the waitlist person declines (and then the next person on the waitlist declines and so on) the seat won't be open for add drop. So for a class where there was a 20 person waitlist, 10 people can drop the class and it'll show those seats as open, but they aren't yet available to non-waitlist folks (and depending on the WL activity, may never be).

Thanks for that, Emma. One quick followup question if you don't mind: Are we notified if we are able to move into a class from the waitlist and do we have to manually do anything, or is that process automatic?
You'll get an email from the registrar called something like "Waitlist Activation Notification" and you have to respond to that email saying you'd like to be in the class, and then they'll register you.

The IT Memo we received said something about an ethernet cable for connecting to campus internet. Do we actually need one or are we pretty much able to get the wifi without problems at the law school (with exception of the classrooms of course)?

The
library has great wifi connectivity. The
law school, on the other hand, does not; however, with the exception of the classrooms, there isn't really anywhere to connect via Ethernet cable on that end of the building anyway.
Thanks! So, just to clarify and make sure I followed correctly- in the classrooms I know we aren't supposed to connect to internet during class, but if we wanted to connect at other times, then we would need an ethernet cable in the classrooms?

I tried updating it but the new one didn't work, and I somehow deleted my square watermelon.
By the way, just out of curiosity, if you had an extra hour in the day, what would you do with it?
If you're asking my answer would be sleep. If an interviewer is asking literally any other answer.

Congratulations, you've moved on to the next round. Next question: How do you deal with stress?
Next question: do you have any questions for me?

3Ls, how does the grading work for the super small classes where you have to write a paper. Is it curved to 179?

To the extent that you are going to keep any of these, I'd keep ethics. I wish I would have taken it last year and this quarter is thin on super desireable classes imo.

I kinda want that contracts and comm transactions class. Might switch one out for it if I can manage it.

Depends on how the small the class is. If tiny, there isn't necessarily a curve. If small, then the professors has the freedom to work with a 178-79 median.
I know you didn't ask for this advice, but be wary of taking too many paper classes. Writing those things is just the worst.

Regulus wrote:I thought about taking that too, but I decided against taking another MWR class. My current schedule (that I am hoping to switch up quite a bit after the first day of classes) is:
Secured Transactions (Hoping to swap this for something else.)
LAWS 42201/01: Monday/Wednesday/Thursday (2:45PM~3:50PM)
Modern Professional Responsibility (Hoping to swap this for something else.)
LAWS 41018/01: Monday (9:45AM~11:45AM)
Contracts and Commercial Transactions
LAWS 91553/01: Wednesday (9:45AM~11:45AM)
Project and Infrastructure Development and Finance (Hoping to swap this for something else.)
LAWS 42512/01: Thursday (4:00PM~6:00PM)
What are you all signed up to take, and which courses are you definitely sticking with?
Contracts and Commercial Transactions
Wednesday (9:45AM~11:45AM)
Financial Accounting (Assuming I get it, it's at Booth)
Wednesday (1:30PM~4:30PM)
Contract Drafting and Review
Thursday (9:45AM~11:45AM)
Food Law
Thursday (4:00PM~6:00PM)
Not dreading going back to school as much as I'd expected.
