The management at Regents is a joke, man. Get used to it, if you're going to be living there.FinalFour wrote:Does Regents always ignore your calls and emails or am I just lucky?

You're paying for the really good view on floor 25+
Otherwise your just subsidizing a band of retards in the leasing and management office.

Re: UChi Current Students Taking Questions
I am currently looking into Regent apartments I am bit confused by their description.
If I live in a North tower with a South View, does that mean I am facing north or south? Because apparently I want to face North?

Pretty sure "North tower with South view" means you'll have a view of the South tower.

I face that way in the north tower and you have a large view of the lake and hyde park the higher up you go.
Also if anyone hasn't signed a lease pm me and I'll refer you. We get a discount on our rent and I'll kick some of that sweet cash back to you. #cheapassmel

@Rick, awesome, thanks for the map. So with that view I wont be stuck facing the sun right? Few pages back they were complaints about facing South because of the heat?

That's a question for Mal, too. I just found that map on the first page of the c/o 2017 thread (thanks, 2014).

Re: UChi Current Students Taking Questions
I have now lived on the south and north sides of the north tower. The north side is significantly cooler since the sun doesn't set on that side, due to the slight east/west diagonal facing of the building. But I don't think it's a big deal at all living on the south side. I've now been through the hottest months of the year and it's not really that bad. Especially since there is central air. I think it's even better to live south because during the winter I'll have more sunlight in the afternoon and evening, and I'm gonna wan every second of it during the winter time.Ricky-Bobby wrote:That's a question for Mal, too. I think that should answer your question. Unless you're concerned about some other issue with regards to living on what side of the building.

How feasible is it to work in one of the clinics during your 1L summer? Do many people do that?

Sure. Looking at the list of summer jobs that career services sent out this summer, there were 26 people in the class of 2016 working in the law school clinics this summer. I don't know how difficult it is to get one of these positions or anything like that, but plenty of people do work in the clinics.nedstarksbastard wrote:How feasible is it to work in one of the clinics during your 1L summer? Many more people apply than get spots, but I think there is a lot of natural attrition along the process as people accept other forms of summer employment.nedstarksbastard wrote:How feasible is it to work in one of the clinics during your 1L summer? Do many people do that?

Yea. I think everyone I know who really wanted one got one, but it wasn't always their first choice. I know personally I applied to a couple and accepted my offer elsewhere (as an RA) between the interview and when I would've heard back.Crowing wrote:Many more people apply than get spots, but I think there is a lot of natural attrition along the process as people accept other forms of summer employment.nedstarksbastard wrote:How feasible is it to work in one of the clinics during your 1L summer? Some are very popular and have a lot of competition for not very many spots; others seem to be the other way around. The experience seems to be really good either way.

It's not out yet to my knowledge. But over the last few weeks they have been updating the courses that each individual professor teaches. So if you look up the hammer you can see what he is teaching 2014-2015.2014 wrote:Where is the course list or are you getting this from some teacher telling you?

Last year someone actually went through and made an excel sheet with a list of who was teaching what and for which quarter.Mal Reynolds wrote:It's not out yet to my knowledge. This sounds like a job for our one and only Regulus.AspiringAcademic wrote:Last year someone actually went through and made an excel sheet with a list of who was teaching what and for which quarter.Mal Reynolds wrote:It's not out yet to my knowledge. The transactional clinic seemed particularly popular and difficult to get.nedstarksbastard wrote:How feasible is it to work in one of the clinics during your 1L summer? Do many people do that?

Would it be a supremely dumb idea to move in to one of the high rise buildings immediately before orientation? Assume I'm from the area.
