In all seriousness though, you'll be fine. There are plenty of opportunities to meet people downtown and outside of the law school community. There are a few 1Ls who have hooked up with each other, but I am not sure how that has played out. I can definitely imagine it being super awkward if things go south but you're stuck next to them on the seating chart for the rest of the quarter, or in their section for the rest of the year.
I personally wouldn't worry about getting into a relationship until 2L when you have more time, though. At that point, you might even be able to date someone at the law school because you won't be stuck in the same section anymore, and you can theoretically never see them if you want to by taking different classes. ~200 people is actually a lot bigger than you'd imagine. There are still occasionally people I see in the C/O 2016 that I didn't know went here.
The sad part is I really thought Posnr was another app until you mentioned The Law School and I realized you guys were talking about Posner.
But thanks for the response. I met some 1Ls who were dating at ASW, but there are only a few. Several students told me about some horrible hookup stories that discouraged me from considering anyone at my LS.
On a completely unrelated note, being in Chicago these past few days has really made me appreciate the fact that UChi is located in Hyde Park. If it was located anywhere near where Northwestern Law is located, I would be broke and my productivity would go straight out the window.
