Re: UVA 2L taking questions
Current student could answer for sure, but I saw plenty when I visited and plan on getting a mac book to go with my imac. I believe you just need to have Word for when exams come around. I was only thinking about running 7 on bootcamp for gaming purposes.crossingforHYS wrote:Is UVA compatible with macs?

Oh ok ....Thank ya! That helps, I was debating between a mac and a pc....but I am a bit afraid my pc will crash during exams...may be irrational but it is a fearWVUCelticFan wrote:Current student could answer for sure, but I saw plenty when I visited and plan on getting a mac book to go with my imac. Re: UVA 2L taking questions
I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding, so I want to clear a few things up.
The bookstore sells MS Office 10 (for PCs) for $10.
The bookstore sells MS Office 11 (for Macs) for $10.
Both versions of MS Office has Word, and either format is acceptable for an exam. Macs do not require Windows to take an exam.
As well, the above poster was correct, you may buy Windows 7, but only as an upgrade disk. The bookstore also sells WIndows Vista (full version) for $10, however. So if you want to run Windows 7, and you don't have Vista, it will just cost you an extra $10 to do so. You buy the full version of Vista for 10, then buy the upgrade version of Windows 7 for 10 more.

For older students, when is the grade deadline for spring grades? It surely cannot be July 1st, right? That would correspond to the February 1st deadline for fall grades.

Last year it was Tuesday, June 15. I think all of them were posted by 11 pm that day.5ky wrote:For older students, when is the grade deadline for spring grades? It surely cannot be July 1st, right? That would correspond to the February 1st deadline for fall grades.

I'm pretty sure that between a third and half of the law school uses a mac. Too much money, the lot of you.paulinaporizkova wrote:in general, macs are win in my bookcrossingforHYS wrote:oh ok, Thanks for the help. My advice to 0Ls: if you're going to do what that student did, do it now and not 2 weeks before graduation.

That's an unfortunate story, but my first reaction was still happy that it's not another one of these disgruntled unemployed 3L articles.

Have you guys accepted/declined your loans via SIS yet? Is there a specific time when that has to be done?

It will be though. My original post was a bit of an overreaction, but I just got a text about it and, I don't know, it's just like, enough is enough.Cavalier wrote:It's not on ATL yet...badwithpseudonyms wrote:WHY THE FUCK CAN'T OUR SCHOOL STAY THE HELL OFF ATL?!![]()

Hey...a Libel Show skit made honorable mention on ATL. I guess we can't say all their coverage is bad.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
