Ok, so any opinions on the class experience/grade friendliness of the following profs for classes:
Hiliker for Ethics
Provezano for Employment Discrim
Tax with Cameron
Copyright with DiCola

Provenzano is the best teacher I've ever had. Seriously. Amazing. I didn't plan on loving employment discrimination, and now it's my summer job. She's actually trained in teaching methods, and she's very engaging and energetic in class. People did very well in her class as far as I know, but she does expect you to keep up- very keen on in-depth participation, but not to the point of being mean.

Thoughts on choosing a concentration? Is it worth it to confine courses/jump through the hoops? Will following the Civil Lit concentration actually help me professionally? Or just more pain than it's worth?

I haven't had Fischman for a traditional law class, but I took Quantitative Methods from him last semester. He was an engaging, interactive lecturer and displayed a solid mastery of the material. I'd take another class with him.

Well there's currently some turnover in the office. The head guy, Bill Chamberlain, left about a month ago to go head up career services at Depaul. And then one of the other advisors, Puja, has been on maternity leave. I've had the only advisor who has been consistently available (Dave Diamond) and I've found him super helpful and approachable. He's been there a while and gets nothing but rave reviews from attorneys who went to NU and had him.

I've been impressed how quickly he's turned around feedback on bidlists and resumes that I've sent him.

If you want to do corporate, then i-banking/consulting experience is a huge plus.

I wouldn't say NU's placement into NYC is minor. Last year, NU students took the bar exam 16% NY/39% IL. U Chicago was around 12% NY/38% IL. This just reflects the fact that Chicago is a big local market and people want to stay there. The only schools that place substantially more into NYC are the ones where NYC is their target market: Cornell, Penn, and of course Columbia and NYU.

Moderate-hard grader.

Incredibly terrible lecturer, very opaque grading system, bizarre testing methods, and did not follow his own syllabus. Also hard grader. Highly recommend that you not take his class.

It's free thanks to SNR Denton (what happened to them, btw?), but I would have to quit work a week earlier than planned. I'm leaning towards not attending, as the money seems more useful, but wanted to make sure I'm not missing out on something actually worthwhile.

I didn't attend, and I just looked at the website, seems like working would be a far better use of your time. This is especially true because once you get here NU will make you sit through various things to introduce you to law school (Portal, Apex, etc...) I think you're fine skipping it.
