Tip for law school/life: don't spend too much time worrying about what other people are doing. You will do better (and be happier) if you focus on yourself.

In this particular case, we had to write a term paper together. And he was really nice, he just never did any work. And when he did do work, it was really bad (and I didn't know how to tell him this, so I didn't and just went with it). We ended up getting a D on our paper and I ended up with a C+ in the class.

Alternatively, there was one girl who asked a lot of "dumb" questions, but her doing so saved my ass in an engineering class that I was too lost in to even begin formulating questions. I easily could have gotten a D or F in that class but ended up with a B+ (and she got an A).

Each class will only have a handful of transfer students, and it is entirely plausible that they are all in the bottom 90%.

No, we take in 30-40 post-1L's each year. And in my experience, they're smarter and more motivated than the average non-transfer.

The fact that I can absolutely think of idiot transfers aside, saying they're generally smarter than the rest of the student body is absurd. Harder workers on average, sure, but not smarter. But then again I don't have the highest regard for people who judge the intelligence of others based on participation in law school classes...

Hopefully i'll be moved in by early August, if I get my shit together in time and find an apartment before I leave for Europe in a week (LOL). If not, then I might be back as early as mid-July to apartment hunt!!

As someone who was probably more apathetic and lazy in UG than you, all you have to realize is that what happens in class has no impact in your final grade. Oh and don't talk about grades.

You should probably not bank on getting great advice from Career Services regardless of Bill leaving. I would rely more on advice from students/alumni who have gone through it before and are generally happy to help. Bill is nice, but you can ask a few random 2Ls or 3Ls and will get much better advice.

Eh. Bill is plugged-in in a way a lot of 2L's and 3L's aren't. I'm the resident NU employment stats gunner and he gave me invaluable advice in improving my bid list.

I would be very interested in hearing more about the bolded. (I'm being serious.) Do you have better/more insightful data than what I could find on career services? Feel free to PM if you'd rather.
