For me, its probably 4-5 hours outside of class per day.
My school has graded LRW, though. I would assume that I spend a whole lot more time on those assignments than people who go to a school where LRW is P/F.
So it kind of depends.

First 6 weeks of 1L: 6-8
Since I took my first midterm last week and realize the only useful way to spend your time is to prepare for exams: 2-4

1L here. Ramping it up currently. Was originally about 1-2hours/day outside of class. Now I'd say around 3-4.

6-8 hrs outside of class Mon-Fri. Around 10 hrs Sat & Sun. Generally, you should expect to be working 75-80 hrs/week during 1L. This is pretty typical of T14s.

On average, I'd say I study probably three or four hours a day outside of class (I'm trying to treat law school as a 9-5)...The real bummer is that I am stressing out about not working enough pretty much around the clock, which stress seems to stem from the inherent competition and uncertainty of 1L.
