I'd venture that physical appearance and having a profile that doesn't put off the "I'm really desperate" vibe that most dudes' profiles put off will provide a better response rate than simply listing a preFTIJUS* school.

I think one of the important things is also to just stick to high level descriptions of what you do in law school/law firms. I can imagine that there is little that kills a conversation or chance quicker than talking about Erie or procedural due process.

To clarify, no I am not desperate. I do pretty well for myself. I just wanted to see if the mythical "1L love" I had heard about was true or not, and what the scene was like in general.

Hey guys, yeah I figured it would probably be similar to UG. Yes, my username is a dbz reference, and yes, Trunks is a bawse.

If we want to get into specifics, I'm thinking NYC scene, keeping Columbia and NYU in mind.

So if you want a real answer, it depends on how much you want to dip into the undergrad class. At Columbia, you have both Columbia College and Barnard so the girl/guy ratio is heavily in your favor. At NYU, you live in Greenwich Village where the bar/social scene is much better so if you're very sociable you can do well.

I don't know anyone at CLS who dates (or gets down with) an undergraduate. The social scenes are pretty removed, although the law school gets a ton of Columbia undergrad alumns so they are probably more familiar with the campus scene.

Young adult Dating in Ny is mostly tinder-driven these days, although a lot of law students end up getting with other people in their section. Many have serious SO's when they start school.

Generally the truly beautiful women in your class won't be interested in other law school students. At the big names it runs the gamut from the children of billionaires and celebrities (or celebrities in their own right) to aspie k-jds who never leave the apartment-library-classroom nexus. Dating is pretty variable, obviously.

Tinder completely blows my mind. How can people use that seriously? I mean, the only thing you both know about the other is that you are physically attracted to one another. I'd always be worried that the actual person on the other phone is some big hillbilly named Jethro who thinks that I "got a real purty mouth, boy." Next thing I know I'm chained up in the basement with a ball gag in my mouth.

Ummm...you don't just go on dates with people without first talking to them. If you have no chemistry or have nothing in common, often you guys just stop at the texting stage. Also, it's not like you invite them over to your house without ever meeting them in a public place first. I've went on a few just for kicks and they can be pretty fun. My roommate is dating a guy she met on Tinder and they've been together for a while now.

The bolded is correct. It's how all online dating and real world dating works. IDGAF if someone is a 99% match on OKCupid, if they aren't physically attractive to me.
