Rather than research this little get rich quick scheme, turn your Google onto researching the proposed changes to PSLF. Start with this thread: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 5&t=225724

There are a lot of reasons not to go through with OP's plans but a minor part of a budget that has no possibility of passing isn't one of them.timbs4339 wrote:Rather than research this little get rich quick scheme, turn your Google onto researching the proposed changes to PSLF. His budget might not pass, but the Republicans will adopt some of his proposals, and the one that reads "close a budget gap by giving less money to young government workers who won't vote for us anyway" is surely going to be one of them.Yukos wrote:There are a lot of reasons not to go through with OP's plans but a minor part of a budget that has no possibility of passing isn't one of them.timbs4339 wrote:Rather than research this little get rich quick scheme, turn your Google onto researching the proposed changes to PSLF. Please reconsider the amount of debt you are going to take and do some more in depth research. 8 years after law school I still haven't put a dent in my loans. Don't get too clever.

Yeah there a lot of moving parts to pslf and it is quite discouraging that they're already discussing changes to the program when it hasn't even kicked in yet. This gives off the impression that the program as is won't be around for long anyway. I saw that the second half to Obama's proposal would be to continue paying on IBR/PAYE for an additional 15 years after the initial 57k 10 yr forgiveness but there would be no tax bomb. I agree with you guys that greedy republicans are definitely going to screw over student loan borrowers but for this to work, they need to get rid of that fucking tax bomb
