Re: The recurring "what should I wear to law school" thread
I broke my shoulderblade and it was crazy hard to take off and put on warm clothes around my sling.
...So I noticed that snuggies have a built-in pocket in the front and are super easy to slip on and off. I wore a snuggie for a week straight and it didn't have any effect on my grades or the way professors thought of me.
It's all good. Wear what makes you happy and comfortable.

To each their own but you should probably not be so worried what others think of you especially with blind grading.bdm261 wrote:So I know everyone has seen these threads on here before but I have to ask again, what should I wear to my first day of law school, not law school in general, just the first day before I see how other students show up? I'm asking because this topic came up at work...I work at a law firm right now and one of the law clerks is a 3L at the same law school I'm about to attend.
When I asked him what he thought of Professor X who I will have for Civil Procedure, he said on the first day of class, one of his friends showed up in a hat, shorts, t-shirt that said "Corona" or something, and flip-flops and Professor X gave the student a condescending look for a second and then said "Oh, so that's how you dress for law school?"
I don't want to be the guy showing up in a tuxedo with a top hat but I also don't want to be the slacker stereotype. What's conservative enough without looking like a d-bag?
Personally if the professor said that to me I'd have responded with "When you pay me to show up here I'll dress professionally."

Halfway through the second page of a "what to wear" thread and no one has posted an NPH Suit Up photomeme?

You do realize that there are going to be events throughout 1L year where you'll need to wear business casual and business formal, right?sublime wrote:Apparently I need to find a suit or at least a blazer for the first day of orientation, which I am not at all excited about.

Looks like you're a 1L - your kind is almost equally insufferable, don't kid yourself.Devlin wrote:Great Satchmo wrote:This is why I hate 0Ls

Somewhere in between business casual and shorts/t-shirt.

Pajama pants are popular. Also, don't brush your hair.
