if you dont go to a shitbox school, aka something pretty elite, you can major in Picture Books and get IB. its a calculus that involves way more factors than your major.buddyt wrote:The list may not be totally exhaustive, but it's pretty close.

Conversely, you aren't getting job with an electrical engineering degree from a shit school like Central Michigan University.

lol ok, I'll clarify:
If you go to HYP, major in whatever you want. If you go anywhere else (read: nearly everyone) major in something useful, otherwise you ain't gettin a decent jerb.

Yes you are. And if you major in humanities at HYP with bad grades, you will likely never make as much money as that central Mich grad.Jimbo_Jones wrote:stillwater wrote:if you dont go to a shitbox school, aka something pretty elite, you can major in Picture Books and get IB. its a calculus that involves way more factors than your major.buddyt wrote:The list may not be totally exhaustive, but it's pretty close.

You should look at HYP starting/midyear salaries. If they didn't give as much fin aid as they do, most of their students could likely never pay back their loans (if they paid through loans)

I guess I'll have to call up all the people I know who went to shit schools (CMU, WMU, SVSU, GVSU, etc.) for engineering to tell them "hey you aren't actually unemployed or working as an AT&T salesman, you found an engineering job out of school!" I don't think they will find that convincing. And they graduated Pre-ITE. Believe me, when only half of engineering grads are finding jobs these days, recruiters absolutely care about where you get your engineering degree. Advising someone that they will have a good chance at getting a job from a school without a strong engineering reputation is borderline boomer-esque advice.

No major can prepare you for the LSAT but some college courses including but not limited to: logic, philosophy, rhetoric, or literature may help develop a mindset that will make the LSAT material "easier" to comprehend.
