If your LSAT was good enough to get you on waitlists at George Mason, Maryland & American, then it can't be too bad. Wait out the waitlists, if uninvited, then study hard & retake the LSAT. Consider applying to a few more law schools, as well. Maryland has a very low admission rate, so you obviously had a strong application to get on their waitlist. Don't settle for less than you have earned.

This is a good point; also, by reapplying, it's possible to apply ED to one of these schools and increase your odds of getting in next year.

No. It's class rank and school rank that matter for the most part. Not the number that they curve to.
If a school doesn't calculate class rank until July, would that harm your ability to transfer?
