Well this summer we had someone in my county cooking in the basement while his mom operated a daycare upstairs. All the kids got sick from the fumes, but thankfully no explosion.

Does anyone have an idea of how UVA places in Chicago for someone without ties? While DC and NY are obvious draws if I manage to do well enough for BigLaw, Chicago is my favorite city that I've been to in the US. However, I have absolutely no ties to the city.

It's difficult. Not as difficult as Boston, but much harder than NYC. The Chicago market isn't exactly flourishing right now, and from what I could tell, the Chicago firms that came to OGI were pretty much only ones that would look for above-average grades or better.

Edit: the few firms that weren't as grade conscious had smaller classes.
