The lack of sunshine is overstated. There are plenty of days in the depths of winter where it's sunny as all hell. The problem is the cold. It got down to like -17 one day.Big Tuna wrote:Hey it's been sunny like twice a week for the past two monthsKingRajesh wrote:

this may be the one of the most inaccurate things that I have ever heard. for those of us that actually care about our bodies (i.e. running outside, tanning, etc.), the lack of sun is devastating and the #1 reason I won't be at Cornell next year.vexion wrote:The lack of sunshine is overstated. Since when did working out require sun? Learn to use a gym. As for tans, stop it. Just stop.koalatriste wrote:this may be the one of the most inaccurate things that I have ever heard. for those of us that actually care about our bodies (i.e. running outside, tanning, etc.), the lack of sun is devastating and the #1 reason I won't be at Cornell next year.vexion wrote:The lack of sunshine is overstated. Starting to get the impression that if I want to go to Cornell, I should become a law koala.

Re: Cornell 1L taking questions
Can any current 1L's (or other) comment on (to the best of their ability) how hard it is to get Hughes Hall housing? I plan to apply tomorrow (just committed fully to Cornell this week). On a related note, how long it takes to get a response? I would prefer Hughes, but I don't want to delay looking for alternative options indefinitely.
Thank you!
Thank you!

Any idea on how long they wait to tell you (based on your experience or friends)? I'm afraid of applying and being unable to commit to another option, and then having to scramble for something in late July/early August if Hughes falls through.

You gotta apply ASAP. Hughes is filling up, they're sending out placement emails.dyblut wrote:Any idea on how long they wait to tell you (based on your experience or friends)? Re: Cornell 1L taking questions
I'm applying tomorrow by faxing in the form that came with the housing brochure, which I only got on Tuesday. I have the added frustration that I tried to apply online tonight, but I went to Cornell as an undergrad (2010), and in the housing application I'm registered as a senior and can't select Hughes in the drop-down list. So I figured I'd fix in the form and talk to someone in the housing office. Are they totally responsible for Hughes, or do you know/recommend talking to someone at the law school?
I'm just hopeful for a quick response either way, so I can at least continue searching elsewhere.
Also if there's a group interested in living in collegetown/somewhere near the law school and looking for another (male) roommate, I'd appreciate a PM. Thanks everyone!
