LOL, looks like the class of 2014 is going to be absolutely delightful.

kingrajesh: enjoy the last 4 months of your life before law school. do as well as possible 1L year and then think about law firms.

For a beer or few... don't expect hour-long open bars.

When I visited Australia in 2000, my dad tricked me into eating vegemite. Told me it was blackberry jam.

He was a such a trolldad...

Anyway, how are the restaurants on campus? Worth the price of a meal plan?

Meal plan isn't for restaurants. It's for dining halls that you'll never find.

I live in Hughes. I have a meal plan for this semester (10 meals per week), but did not have one for the first. The meal plan is worth it to me personally because I can eat a lot more healthier in the d-fac than in random food joint around campus. But it is more expensive per meal then either making yourself a sandwich or going out.

There is a plan where you get 10 meals for the semester and than like $800 or so BRB (Big Red Bucks). This is a pretty good deal, because you can use the BRBs at the D-fac or at the a la carte locations like Hughes Dining or the Ivy Room.

Just as a follow up, there are a number of Cornell Dining a la carte places to eat near the law school, and there is a small dining hall in the law school that is open for breakfast and lunch.

The law school dining hall serves burgers and other grilled sandwiches, custom salads, and some shabby/sheik country fare stuff like BBQ brisket and southern fried chicken fingers with gravy. There's also a vegetarian deli in Annabelle Taylor hall next to the law school, a food court in the student union called the Ivy Room with a grill, custom salads, Asian wokery type place, and a Mexican place, and a little further is the Stater Hotel dining hall, which has similar options.

However, most of these places aren't as close as the restaurants in Collegetown, like Collegetown bagels (sandwiches), Pita Pit, Subway, Aladdin's (Greek), Mama Teresa's (Italian/food poisoning), That Burrito Place (Chipotle knock-off), 2 $9 all-you-can-eat Indian lunch buffets, and about 10 Asian/Chinese/Thai/Korean BBQ/Sushi/Bubble Tea places.

does no one else find this question ridiculous?

Ru says "girlll, you gotta step up your game if you have such low self-confidence as to worry if your laptop is going to fit in at law school."

Maybe this thread should be locked until after finals to give everyone some time to chill.
