Ohare is nicer than midway and there is a train that runs into downtown.franklyscarlet wrote:Would flying into ohare or midway be better?

Midway is closer to the school by a decent amount. Midway to the law school is about an hour by public transit and about $30ish by taxi. O'Hare to the law school is 1.5+ hours and $40ish by taxi. Both of them are easy by public transit since they each have an L line running to them. I prefer Midway since it takes less time and I usually use Southwest which only flies to Midway. O'Hare is also a larger and busier airport in general.franklyscarlet wrote:Would flying into ohare or midway be better?

I have a friend at USC taking Federal Income Tax with Nancy Staudt, who left Northwestern a couple years ago for USC. I checked both SFPIF and the library exam bank and there's nothing. Any body have anything by chance?

Midway is ALWAYS better than ORD unless you need to be in the north/northwest suburbs. Smaller, fewer lines for security, 25-minute L ride downtown versus 50 minutes from ORD....much less expensive cab ride in, and better choices for cabbie if the expressway is clogged. Avoid ORD whenever possible.franklyscarlet wrote:Would flying into ohare or midway be better?

Re: Northwestern Students Taking Questions and Challenges
Midway is 50 minutes away from Streeterville by CTA, O'hare is more like 1:10 hours away by CTA. It's 25 minutes from the last orange line loop stop, but that is kinda far from Streeterville. It is closer by cab though. Also Midway is mostly Southwest flights,so you have to go on southwest.com not just look at priceline. Most airlines fly from O'hare.ncct07 wrote:Midway is ALWAYS better than ORD unless you need to be in the north/northwest suburbs. Or unless you live on the blue line. I've flown in and out of ORD several times, and it's always been quick and easy at security, etc.ncct07 wrote:Midway is ALWAYS better than ORD unless you need to be in the north/northwest suburbs. Re: Northwestern Students Taking Questions and Challenges
ugh, i've always hated O'Hare mostly because I've only had bad memories of that place. everytime i've flown there it was for a connecting flight after having just gotten off a 12 hour international flight from somewhere else and I'm totally in a bad mood from being jet-lagged and feeling half-dead
that being said, seems like O'Hare's the best choice here and that's where i'll be flying into

I've only ever flown on O'Hare, mainly because their tickets seem to be the cheapest. CA --> CHI for $210? Yes please!
I've always had great experiences with the airport: never delayed or had an issue getting in and out.

First, I want to thank all the upperclassmen in this thread for sharing such useful information about the law school. Seriously, you guys are seriously awesome.
Second, it's been a while since anyone posted a challenge. Here is mine.
Step 1: Go to the Doughnut Vault on Saturday morning. Buy 12 doughnuts.

Step 2: Eat 6 on Saturday morning.
Step 3: Eat 6 on Sunday morning.
Step 4: Then, run the Shamrock Shuffle with me Sunday morning. Green alcoholic beverages may or may not be showered upon you like affection after this challenge is completed.

Doughnut Vault is awesome. Damn that long line and the fact that they close only after a few hours (because they're sold out).kennethellenparcell wrote:First, I want to thank all the upperclassmen in this thread for sharing such useful information about the law school. Re: Northwestern Students Taking Questions and Challenges
Would you guys recommend law school or becoming a lawyer to your children? cousins? nephews?
I've seen a few people recommend law school and some people who were against it.
(all of whom are lawyers)
What about you guys here? You guys go to one of the best schools in the nation and I'm assuming you're all smart people knowing what you're doing with your life. Would you guys recommend someone very close to you to become a lawyer? I think this questions is like asking "Do you like being a lawyer (or the prospect of it)?"
