Well it was pretty damn brutal and I still have a pretty large chunk of money in limbo at Full Tilt Poker. However I don't think the lifestyle was sustainable long term, and I considered law school many times even before that. It was probably the kick in the ass I needed to actually make it happen.traehekat wrote: how'd black friday treat you?

i have a number of friends who lost between 60-100k on UB, tilt, etc. felt so bad for them. they all felt the same way you do tho - not sustainable long term. one of them is actually at case western law right now haha.WokeUpInACar wrote:Well it was pretty damn brutal and I still have a pretty large chunk of money in limbo at Full Tilt Poker. Did any of you have Koppelman for ConLaw and if so was his final open or closed book? he hasn't specified yet, but some indicators point to closed book.

I'm ridiculously excited about Northwestern, and really looking forward to ASW! It will be my birthday that weekend, so I will absolutely be joining you guys for drinks!
I just read through this whole thread -- thank you all so much for taking the time to provide this information, and for being awesome in general.

I didn't know 1L's were capable of drinking with people who weren't 1L's. I'll be damned.bk187 wrote:As long as everyone gets plastered I'm all for it.crumpetsandtea wrote:Basically we just need to have a TLS party at NU ASW, is what I'm saying.

We are quite cliquey. I was expecting a jab more along the lines of, "I didn't know this year's 1L's actually drank."bjsesq wrote:I didn't know 1L's were capable of drinking with people who weren't 1L's. Re: Northwestern Students Taking Questions and Challenges
Is the school's estimate of $709 per semester for books pretty accurate? Is that if you buy new (implying that renting and/or buying used books would bring the total down)?

Re: Northwestern Students Taking Questions and Challenges
All new casebooks this term cost me $652. With a few used supplements that I've bought/will buyt $709 is on the money. Note this is all new stuff from amazon. New from the bookstore will be rather more (8-900, I'd guess), and used from online will be much less depending on how low you go on quality. hth.rinkrat19 wrote:Is the school's estimate of $709 per semester for books pretty accurate? Seriously? What are you waiting for?
